I did look. O'Reilly did not interupt Bush as frequently and let his answers go on for longer. Subjectively the questions he asked were not nuetral and certainly were not as outright hostile as those he posed to Obama.

I really do have to disagree here.

The first thing he and Obama discussed was Obama stepping in to save journalist, and thanking him. With Bush, he jumped right into "your administration has been accused of being fascist, ignoring human rights, and violating the Geneva Convention" and then critical questions about torture, waterboarding, and why the administration wasn't discussing those things.

He did let Bush talk longer, but when Bush was talking, O'Reilly sat stonefaced, not agreeing or supporting, and asked things like "what's wrong with civilian courts" and quoted Hillary Clinton criticizing Bush.

I think he asked Bush harder questions, and was more critical of Bush.

I also find it interesting that during the interview he was to the right of Obama but to the left of Bush.

What is interesting is how you clipped O'Reilly's opening question to make it sound as if he was challenging Bush when in fact he was throwing him a softball question to give him a platform to attack his critics.

The full quote was "Your administration has been accused of being fascist, violating human rights, ignoring the Geneva Convention and it's been a fierce campaign against this policy. Why has it been so fierce? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,221975,00.html#ixzz1DiDNkKBK

That sounds pretty damn sympathetic to me, not an accusation as you claim.

Yes, thank you. There also seem to be more and more people who think that "of" is part of a subjunctive compound verb phrase.

There was nothing wrong with my use of "of" though, which is the main thing ;)

And the next person using the phrase "off of" in my vicinity is going to get a boot up the hooter.

Oh, lay off of it, guv.

LOL!!!!!!

See? It's all about the timing.  We had (in my day) a comedian by the name of Norm Crosby (no, I don't believe he was related) and he made his living misusing and mangling words, sentence structures, and so on.

He would not be so subtle to (I could have said as to...LOL) make a joke out of 'off of ',  it would soar over the heady heights of american lingo.

Well obviously if it's for comic effect then fair enough, but the "less" and "fewer" example is just very poor writing/journalism.

I think you are looking at things from an odd perspective.

The simple fact is the questions were aimed at letting Bush justify torture of prisoners while the questions asked of Obama were mostly attempts at making Obama agree with the things FNC has been saying about him.

But even if you disagree with the subjective details the objective details are indisputable. O'Reilly interupted Bush less and waited longer between each interuption.

Objectively, O'Reilly smiled at Obama more than he did at Bush.
Objectively, O'Reilly complimented Obama more than he did Bush.
Objectively, O'Reilly asked Obama more friendly questions than he did Bush.

See what I did there?

I actually saw more of a rapport with Obama, he was smiling, nodding, the interruptions seemed more like conversational style of directing topics rather than an attempt to silence Obama. The Bush interview was more distanced...there were no interruptions but no smiles, no nods either, he sat stone cold, usually with a slightly skeptical look.

He pressed Bush on torture (asked 3 questions in a row which Bush answered with "we don't talk about that") and I don't think he gave him any softball questions.

But yeah, I guess people will see it differently,

The Zombie outbreak started in 08 with the Zombies chanting "Yes we can!" Instead of "Brains!".

Didn't watch the interview, but from what I heard, Obama was treated with kid gloves compared to Bush.

Actually those are subjective details as they cannot be measured. Objective means there facts that can be measured. The length of time between interruptions is an objective detail whether questions were friendly is strictly a subjective measure.

Well...........as long as you "heard" that it must be true.

What were you saying about zombies?

By the way, there are links to both interviews in the original post, but I'm sure you are far too busy to watch them.

We'll just have to take what you "heard" as a fact.

Trash Talking Republicans

Yes, to fear the eventual zombie invasion, one has to have an actual brain. For these fools, that's the least of their problems.

'Liberalism' is an intolerant religion? And the President practices it? Where do these people come from? Does Fox News have a working Diminesional Transportor Device linked solely to the Land of Bizarro?

Until they got to the point, of someone talking of Mr. Obama's religious beliefs, they could have been taken seriously in a real debate. If you notice the first speaker's facial expression when this comes up, he actually rolls his eyes as if to say "crap, the stupid majority is speaking now...."

The clip this is taken from, was of Bill O'Reilly interviewing the President shortly before the Super Bowl (I think that's the time frame). From my observation, much of Bill's material was heavily 'Agenda Focused' rather then 'Good Journalism'. Some of Mr. O'Reilly's questions were good, but the majority of them were an effort to try to get the President to justify conservative paranoia/conspiracy theories. And the President intelligently side-stepped the baited questions. Funny that as the President was trying to explain something indepth, Mr. O'Reilly wanted to switch to another topic. I guess that implies his typical audience couldn't handle a real, intelligent conservation....

Oh sure, liberalism is very tolerant! Just ask these folks.
Plenty of "intelligent conversations" going on here! "YES THEY CAN!"

Rule, this is the *first time* I've "recycled" it.

"REVOLUTION NOW!!!"

Don't worry, there's PLENTY more where that came from. You need to listen to "Momma Donna!" I bet she could yank those choppers out and take you to leftist heaven!
And, she carries a Glock so we might not see RML for a while if she pulled a "Kathy Bates" number on you!
"Hey, why is RML using a walker?"

Why not? You have a wannabe comedian in the senate.

The wannabe comedian is doing a very good job.

Your picks haven't been so hot, even the ones that made it in there.
