Most teachers that Ive known (whose most difficult task involves handing out standardized materials) wouldnt feel at all comfortable at the controls of a dozer. They would rather have their feet up on a desk with the newspaper and coffee right there in front of them

You're correct to a point sanity but, let's say you are a top notch heavy equipment operator who absolutely LOVES running a dozer. Wisconsin offers you 40K/year and MN offers you 80K/year.

Cost of living is similar and winters suck both places.

Where ya gonna go?

The winters suck both places

Again, dissembling and refusing to answer a simple question.

By the way, I cant drive a dozer but backhoes and light cranes are FUN.

Try to think logically, dont let MM's wild eyed preaching about doom and gloom affect your own sanity. With the average annual compensation in Wisconsin over 100k per teacher, and the governor only asking for a few pennies of that back in order to keep the state afloat I seriously doubt there will be any kind of substantial migration of teachers out of the cheese state.

Uhhh........I posted the figures updated just a few months ago showing the average anual teacher's salary in Wisconsin was a little over $46,000.

So why don't you for once try to back up your bullshit with some documentation?

He was talking about those "total compensation packages" that the board puts out to piss off the taxpayers. If theirs is anything like Mine was, it's utter bullshit.

According to the sources Ive found thats the total cost to the district per teacher

Not all teachers are whores doing it for money MM, Wisconsin schools would be doing good to shed  those who are shutting down the schools over a few dollars.

Think of the children

So much for capitalism.

Thinking of the children includes a good educational system with good teachers.

That the system needs improvement is without question.

It's truly an amazing thing though.

We listen to how our children are going to be impoverished by reckless spending but there is no attention paid to who educates these children.

It is viewed by some as a low-level job.

Meanwhile we have Lebrons earning millions of dollars dribbling a basketball with a high school education.

Is this a great country or what?

Sanity -> RE: SCOTT WALKER for President (2/20/2011 7:25:10 AM)

Oh, so these teachers are shutting down entire school districts for the good of the children.

I see.

And if these  teachers seek capitalism let them go into the private sector, sucking on the taxpayer teat isnt capitalism.

You really need to join rule in learning the difference from what is claimed vs. what you claim is claimed.

Lucylastic -> RE: SCOTT WALKER for President (2/20/2011 7:34:48 AM)

Arent the people protesting public sector workers?
Do they not pay taxes?

No shit?

Tell that to the banks that received taxpayer bailouts.

Tell that to GM.

Tell that to AIG.

It would seem the private sector likes "teat" a lot more.

It will be a cold day in hell when I let someone with your mental issues lecture me about my understanding of things Tim, but thanks for the tip anyway. Regarding the teachers, there is no need to give these greedy bastards two or three times the average compensation of the local population in return for for handing out standardized forms, especially when tenure ensures they cant be held responsible to a reasonable degree.

Which you still have not provided any documentation to support.

Moonhead -> RE: SCOTT WALKER for President (2/20/2011 7:45:44 AM)

Aaaaah. Does somebody still have a chip on their shoulder about the shitty results they got from high school?

Sanity -> RE: SCOTT WALKER for President (2/20/2011 7:46:27 AM)

I think thats the worst I have ever been insulted on here, being compared to you rml.

Sanity -> RE: SCOTT WALKER for President (2/20/2011 7:50:16 AM)

Lets just say I have never been impressed with how hard most public school teachers have had to work, and that there are plenty who shouldnt be allowed anywhere near a school.

And the documentation you provided is grossly misleading...salary is only one part of "compensation".
