i dont know why you're expecting a literal image from an avatar. avatars are representations. just because you happen to think someone is ugly doesn't mean that other people share your opinion. using a nonexact avatar isn't a lie either, BECAUSE avatars are, by the nature of the meaning of the word, symbolic.

but thanks to this conversation, i've learned how to pick an avatar that isn't my profile picture. =)

i'll leave it alone, but it's nice to know there's thos whole bank of images you can use when you want a change but don't want to bother with your camera. =p

I've always thought that looks will catch the attention but it is what is between the ears that keeps it.

Interestingly - well, interesting to me, anyway - none of my crushes are for any man that doesn't have a real picture of himself on the boards. I was getting ready to write something about how I am more attracted to the words rather than any pictures, but...maybe that's not true.

And even more...some have not posted here in quite some time. At least two that I can think of that made a big impression on me several years ago. I still remember their pictures very clearly.
