Qualifiers like "for the most part" confuse people like Tazzy and RML.

And the answer RML is once. You have to actually show he is wrong.

I though that was already done.

But considering your obvious ADD I'll help you out.

Yet More Tea Party Signs: Racism, Violent Rhetoric

it is funny that in your little, ignorant world, one picture disprooves this statement,

"No, for the most part Tea Party protests are issues oriented and very family friendly. "

snuck with the edit and addded 25 more. Its still not even .001%

You really are pathetic.

You ask for proof and then deny the proof because it is not proofiness enough.

luckydawg -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/26/2011 4:31:05 PM)

no, its just not proof.

Lucylastic -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/26/2011 4:34:19 PM)

Hes playing with you RML..
or trying to ..dont let him, he  knows its bullshit as much as sanity does
Fred Phelps is his family friendly and mostly peaceful issues orientated...
I dislike both and refuse to play their dumb games
(phelps and the tea party)
self righteous ugly people

Maybe so.

It's sad if that is the case.

Self righteous ugly people? Sounds like youre talking about the union goons.

There's been arguing on the boards before about the slant of the news departments. Many times in this forum (P and R), FOX News is often slammed as being from the right while MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. are held up as being "neutral".

In August 2009, ABC anchor Charles Gibson complained how “protesters brought pictures of President Obama with a Hitler-style mustache to a town hall meeting,” failing to mention that the signs were produced by Lyndon LaRouche’s wacky fringe movement, not the Tea Party or conservatives.

..."one" protest sign drew a cross-hairs over a picture of Governor Walker’s head, with the caption “Don’t Retreat, Reload; Repeal Walker” — an obvious parallel to a Facebook map posted by Sarah Palin last year, although that much-criticized graphic placed the target sights on maps of congressional districts, NOT any politician’s face.(Bold, italics, capitalization mine)

Yet NONE of these signs in the hands of liberal protesters have drawn the SLIGHTEST complaint from morning and evening news stories, segments and anchor briefs on the Wisconsin protests from Thursday, February 17 (when they first drew major national coverage) through Monday, February 21. While eight of the 53 stories (15%) visually displayed one or more of the signs described above, none elicited a single remark from the network correspondents.

Let the spin begin...I can't wait.

First, the assumption is that the news reporter knew...knew it was a LaRouche goon and we still don't know that he or she was.

Second, to equate the failure to mention a single sign just as possibly from a right wing goon as a plant or troublemaker and as inspiration for violence compared to one of the most visited political figure webpage and from a former VP candidate, is such a distant grasping at straws as to make the whole point another ridiculous attempt to find anything...anything at all to equate the rightwing, vicious vitriol to any commentary or demonstration of the left.

BTW congressional districts are just that...a single district that denotes ONE congresswoman. Your ignorance now comes through and this OP is not even a nice try.

Give it up, Sanity. It would take me the same amount of time to cobble together a bunch of Tea Party protest signs that are as bad (or worse) as those above.

Both sides do this shit, and you know it.

Here we go again...'What oil ?'

You know I thought I saw at one of these rallies, Ozzie and Harriet and they were with June and Ward Clever and I didn't even know they were friends.

I appreciate the generosity of your sentiments Lucy, but I am a tad reluctant to readily credit either Sanity or the dawg with any comprehension skills. All the evidence posted here suggests otherwise.

Having said that, I can't go past your advice to ignore them. Excellent suggestion! Who wants gratuitous ugliness in their lives?

Arpig -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/26/2011 7:37:39 PM)

~FR~ By ballot or bullet...seems to me to actually be a real honest American attitude. And to be honest one I am not entirely opposed to, though those who brandished the sign would surely dislike the things I would impose...Ah the delicious ironies of life

(the title Teabagger’s Gone Wild should have been a clue to a highly esteemed, world renown scientist such as ken eh)

Let the spin begin...I can't wait.

First, the assumption is that the news reporter knew...knew it was a LaRouche goon and we still don't know that he or she was.
Would that be akin to the statement that those pictured with signs comparing Walker to Hitler or threatening to ease him out of office with a bullet were held by "plants"?

quote:

Second, to equate the failure to mention a single sign just as possibly from a right wing goon as a plant or troublemaker and as inspiration for violence compared to one of the most visited political figure webpage and from a former VP candidate, is such a distant grasping at straws as to make the whole point another ridiculous attempt to find anything...anything at all to equate the rightwing, vicious vitriol to any commentary or demonstration of the left.
And this is just a spin of the usual "leftists don't do/threaten violence...they are ALWAYS peaceful". Your taking of any act of violence or vitriol and comparing it to this one protest is comparing apples to oranges. But, as has been shown, the signs are just as vitriolic and the speech has been just as hateful

This is ludicrous. Stating that a graphic showing crosshairs over a DISTRICT vs. crosshairs over a HUMAN are the same because a congressperson represents a district is twisting to the nth degree.

As for ignorance...if you go back to the OP, it was about the way the media spins the news and the favorable coverage given protests from the left. As expected, you and your progressive buddies moved away from that quickly. YOUR ignorance comes through, no matter how reasoned you try to appear.

I am not even going to comment is it so ridiculous on its face. Comparing a website advertised and visited by 1000's to a single pic the leftwing bias missed ? This is a serious grasping at straws. Yes, the media spin by the right is at supersonic speed, the left needs to catch up and is nowhere near the violently suggestive as the right.

Psst moon, "vast majority".

And no 25 signs out of thousands is not a vast majority.
