Moonhead -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 9:49:08 AM)

So he was told to go away and take his sign with him because he was misrepresenting the vast majority of teabaggers?

luckydawg -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 10:22:50 AM)

Moon, obviously also doesn't understand what "vast majority" means.......

mnottertail -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 10:57:02 AM)

I sort of find the coupling of vast with majority to be a smidgen of hyperbole if not an outright act of supererogatory uberdescription.

But it is apparent that he obviously knows what it means.

luckydawg -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 11:09:59 AM)

then why would he be pretending that a single picture, or even 25 represents the "Vast Majority"??

Majority just means 50.0whatever %. Vast majority indicates it is a far greater (yet indeterminate) % than that.

People are allowed to use qualifiers, aren't they?

Sanity -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 11:26:38 AM)

Leftists have a hell of a lot invested in their myriad lies about the Tea Party rallies, and its easy enough to see whats driving their panic - everywhere you turn, they seem to be losing ground.

mnottertail -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 11:37:46 AM)

Perhaps he has seen far more pictures of misspelt (and that is spelled acceptably) signs  than he has of those which are correct, furthermore; it may be that since he is of the mob who invented the bloody language his punctilious nature may include disdain for inept grammars and outright solecisms.

I have seen a great many folks who; in the guise of a synecdoche; have held out an anecdote (and in one widespread aberrant case, a man referred to colloquially as 'Joe the Plumber') and held in the face of increasing evidence to the contrary that this was seminal prima facie evidence of whatever the slanted view someone wished to portray.

luckydawg -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 12:09:06 PM)

So there is no proof, just his opinion, based on limited viewing through the media (as there aren't a lot tea rallies in the UK).

So an opinion based on what was fed to him, worthless.

ok, glad we agree.

mnottertail -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 12:14:45 PM)

And there is certainly no proof that the contrary is true, based on limited viewing through the media.

So, that opinion that is trying to be fed here is also, totally worthless.

If that statement beginning 'so' above is what I am agreeing with, k; otherwise, no.

Cuz arguing about who's the better speller in the overall scheme of things is not one of my priorities to craft proofs on.

luckydawg -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 12:18:02 PM)

correct. only person (actaully there are a few trolls doing a tag team on it) is pretending that thier opinion is proof.

To the teabaggers?

[sm=rofl.gif]

They can't even get along with their fellow Republicans.

But wait, didn't you tell us before that there are many Democratic teabaggers?

Whatever happened to those?

So what's your opinion based on that's any different, pray tell?
You've spoken to a vast majority of teabaggers, rather than just got your hearsay from the media?

And the opposite also true, each alike in house and dignity, so once again a standoff, as all these threads are destined to be.

luckydawg -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 12:25:00 PM)

Moon is so confused It thinks I gave my opionion on it.

The fact is that a few pictures (it is the same 25-30 on every website they post) out of thousands of rallies is proof of majority satus, only in the mind of an absolute dumbass.

Some of these trolls are not even worth talking to anymore.

My opinion is that less than .001% is not a valid sample.

Moonhead -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 12:44:38 PM)

Right, so the teabaggers cannot be said to be represented by slogans from a few random pictures, yet it's perfectly acceptable for you to claim that any passing comment you fancy quoting speaks for the whole of the left.
Cute.

And how did you arrive at the .001%?

Or is that something you can tell us but then you would have to kill us?

truckinslave -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 2:31:37 PM)

All the posts saying: "But the Tea Party did it too" are proving, missing, or more likely deliberately obscuring the point: the media pounces on any bad behavior they can link to conservatives/ Tea Partiers, but studiously ignores the same or worse from liberals/unions.

Here's a recent article that's actually on point. The bias could hardly be more evident.
Media bias.

Did you even notice that the guy that runs that site is a professional activist, and writes for National Review?

Of course.   It's a well known fact that reality has an obvious liberal bias.

mnottertail -> RE: This Really Shouldn't Surprise Anyone... (2/28/2011 2:53:05 PM)

and that really shouldn't surprise anyone...

Yes, I know he is a conservative. Activist? Well, he may well be but given what I read about him, I don't see him as a violent or radical one. It IS funny that they would call him an activist whereas they do not use the term in either of these two articles to describe the people profiled, both of whom come from the left. And while "Wike" seems to have no problem finding those areas in which the two folks below have gone up against conservatism during their most recent incarnations, they just can't seem to find anything to cite about Bozell's organization's foray against progressives.:
