ORIGINAL: rulemylife It's a loss leader to draw customers into the convenience stores. Funny thing. The independent outfit where I normally buy (he has about 5 stations in this valley) not only has better prices on gas, the milk is significantly cheaper than at the local grocery store. We have a corporate-owned convenience/gas station here that is always cheaper on milk too. But I think it is the same idea, to draw people into the stores and then they make the real money off beer and cigarette sales, Lotto, and cardboard crack. Their milk tastes strange though, like it is watered down. I buy it when I don't feel like going to the grocery store but there is a definite difference.
