No, we havent chained our physicians, nurses and patients into dank dark dungeons as they have in the UK and Canada etc but we do have health care, contrary to the malicious rumors started by the Kremlin back in the 1960s. We pay our people well, and treat our patients with the respect and dignity that they deserve. quote:

ORIGINAL: susan34B The National Health Service is the one good thing the Socialists ever did. You realise that the US doesn't have universal healthcare? Even if the NHS did have 5 year waits (which it doesn't) and didn't treat some things (which isn't true), it would still be better than the USA, where you have no wait because there is nothing to wait for....you just don't get any healthcare. You're suffering under a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation. as much as I dislike the NHS I have to agree with DCWoody...on top of that there are now options (at least it was mentioned in the news, I didn't try it as I didn't need it and know I would go home for treatment if I would need serious health care provision) that you can get treatment in other european countries if the waiting time takes too long...so if I would have to chose between not so great healthcare as under the NHS and no healthcare due to having no insurance which can happen in the US, then I would certainly go for the not so good health care than for none...
