Maybelline couldn't make this any better...I'm soooo jealous!  This is my Smoochie....I haven't been able to catch the other two....it's like they can sense me sneaking up with the camera!

I kiss 'em between the ears.....they probably just think I'm crazy, but they just are so huggable and smoochable!  Squeaks will even hug and nuzzle back!

If a cat tries to chew my hair it gets backhanded.  Nothing is allowed to touch it without permission.

Not a chance. Behavior like that toward cats teaches them to be skittish and aggressive.  There are much better ways to teach them "No," contrary to what many people think.  We've gotten to the point where just saying "No" usually stops the behavior.  Usually. [8D]

and some disciplinary actions (i.e. squirt bottle, can of rocks, etc) only seem to INCITE some cats (Cashie LOVES the squirt bottle.. my late lamented Simon sneered at the cans (and used the water from the bottle to bathe).. and no behviours altered until they damn well decide to.

I used canned air.  In no time, he no longer climbs the curtains, knocks things off the top of my dresser while I'm trying to sleep, or tries to jump on the TV. 

When he started biting on my hand, a snap of my fingers, followed by a quick (but gentle) tap above the nose and a stern (but not yelled) "No" now has him pulling back just at the word No.  Of course, he still looks at me out of the corner of his eye with his mouth still open, like, "Reeeeeally???" and I say it again and he puts his head down with a sigh.

That's followed up with lots of "Good boy"s and scritches behind the ears. [:)]

The countertop treks are done when I am not home, so no go there.. but the hair thing, curtains, and clawing my comfy chair...  *sigh*
