Like Japan?

I decided to edit this to make it clearer.

We, as in the US, do have other concerns at the moment. Two wars still being faught and americans that need to be evacuated from Japan.

Isnt it time we started putting ourselves first a tiny bit?

Putting ourselves FIRST is NOT the American way these days.
Might as well REALLY attempt to help another country.

Fuck American citizens, we hardly want to do that!
lol, outsourcing, cutting programs, helping the poor and disenfranchized, slashing government programs is the order of the day!Time for many sweeping budget cuts and union busting, so we can lower most Americans standards of living, so we can be like China one day.
USA right now is on the downward track, in case you had not noticed.

This country is so fucked right now, do you thinking helping those in Libya makes a fucking difference?

lol
I say lets help some other countries, we might need another country to go to in the future.

Don't think its any different over here with the cuts which are going on over here

Yesterday one guy on a politics show complained that the UK is such a small country, now has to send so many of their own people into wars...I think he said something like that the UK would send most or almost most (would need to rewind on sky to doublle check which ) compared to other countries....now...I don't know the figures so I stay out of naming figures, but just saying that there views and situation are similar over here

And yes, that is a good point, Cameroon rattling on about a no fly zone, what was he hoping, others take up the lead, for surely the UK can't do it, because the UK is skint, or so we are all being constantly told. Furthermore, the unrest in North Africa and other parts of the Mid East, is highlighting the extreme danger in the governments traitorous plans to decommission 260 military ships and planes to basically save money, methinks if this idiot Cameron and his gimps are not stopped, there is a very real fear Britain will once again be caught with it's pants down is something hefty kicks off in the next few years.

Feels to me the same...

For me its a bit bizarre right now with listening here to the news daily and then sometimes daring to read or watch clips from the news at home...its just bizarre to live in a country who is going to go ahead with it and then reading that the own country doesn't support it but instead offer more help in other areas in afghanistain (I think it was) to enable the US to move more from their soldiers from there to Libya...sometimes its getting a bit confusing to listen to the very different views from your home country to the one you currently live in...but thats not the point here...

Youre funny... that was in response to a few of the droolers who were using HuffPo and DailyKOS as news sources

But thats okay,  I wouldnt expect you to understand a concept as complex as context

And this is a comedy act from someone who cherry picks opinion pieces he agrees with and then attempts to pass them off as an actual news article.

Again the point sails over your head. We get a kick out of yanking you around, because we don't like you. You're so fucking easy to bait, it's almost not funny, but the fact that we dislike you so much makes it worth the minimal effort it takes to ignite you.

You have no idea how comical you are when you burst into flames, but for the rest of us, it's nothing short of hysterical. You and a few others have completely ruined this forum as a place where people can go to have a meaningful discussion, so we might as well get  some fun out of it this way.

Whatever you say, chief. I'm sure we're all completely wrong, and you're the only one on the forum who has the faintest clue what's really happening. What other explanation could there possibly be?

The following Drudge headlines say it all:

On Libya, France, UK take charge...

Gingrich grateful Sarkozy not distracted by basketball brackets...

Newt Gingrich told reporters today that the Libyan rebels have France's lack of bracket fever to thank for the no-fly zone that will soon protect them from aerial attacks by embattled dictator Muammar Qaddafi.

Asked about the U.N. Resolution authorizing military intervention in Libya -- something Gingrich has been pushing for a while now -- Gingrich ripped President Obama for not acting sooner, and again mocked him for his March Madness bracket.

"I was, frankly, very disappointed that [Nicolas] Sarkozy did not share with us his Final Four picks," Gingrich said, referring to the French president, who's nation has led the push for military intervention in Libya. "And i think it's his failure to understand the Final Four that allowed him to focus on Libya on a way tha. Clearly, if he had understood the American system he would have understood that his is not a good week to deal with Libya because this is the week to deal with Kansas, Ohio State, and you know things that were really important."

The New York Times reported today that the U.S. "strongly backed" the Lebanese-sponsored resolution authorizing a no-fly zone over Libya, although France and Great Britain are expected to take the lead in implementing it.

Gingrich said even though the resolution came long after he first suggested the U.S. get directly involved in the conflict, it's not "too late" for the the no-fly zone to work. "It's never too late when dealing with a small dictator," Gingrich said. "If they want to, they can get rid of Qaddafi."

Newt Gingrich Says President Obama is "Spectator in Chief"

Newt Gingrich has taken time away from mulling his presidential run to take shots at President Obama. Gingrich fired at Obama, calling him a "spectator in chief" while accusing him of being passive in the face of crises in Japan and Libya.

Gingrich, considering a run for the presidency in 2012, joined other Republicans in criticizing the president, accusing him of sitting back too much in his response to major crisis situations, The Hill reported Wednesday.

"Well, I think what is increasingly clear is that we have a spectator in chief instead of a commander in chief," Gingrich said on Fox News.

"It is maybe the most passive and out-of-touch presidency in modern American history," he said, accusing the president of "avoiding his job right now."

Either substantiate your claim that "neocon" is a leftist diss or retract it.

Seriously, Sanity, the whole NCAA bracket thing is just a meaningless cheap shot. The Presidency is a 24/7 occupation. Little breaks and distractions are going to be key in keeping the holder of the job sane. Reagan was busy winning the cold war, but still started the newspaper by reading the comics, and Nixon paid more attention to the sports section than any other part of the paper.

As long as he wasn't filling it out during the briefing the on unknown unknowns of a third war in the middle east, who cares?

So Gingrich, mulling a possible run,is taking shots at the man currently occupying the very office Gingrich(in his insanity)covets.
This is newsworthy how(please recall that you did not think a State Senator suggesting we shoot illegal immigrants was actually "newsworthy")?

Back to the original question - Nope.  Provided you're including tanks in the target list and setting the max allowed altitude at less than 6" you can pretty much conduct an all out war under the guise of "no fly zone"-manship......

Now here, Gingrich is staying above the belt. I think the President would be much happier if he had his old "present" button to snuggle with.

The first may have been hyperbole but it speaks to the issue as you have pointed out, whenever theres a crisis (the Gulf oil leak, Libya, Japan) the man likes to vote 'present' from the golf course or Rio or wherever

In some ways as my sig line says his passivity is a good thing though, not necessarily complaining just more or less saying

IF acting as if he has started his run at the man currently occupying the office....by criticizing his Presidents attention to foreign policy issues is "staying above the belt"....than sure thing Rich.
But to tell the truth the rantings of Gingrich hardly matter much anyway...the man is a has-been,with way too much personal baggage to ever be a serious candidate. The heat of primary season will prove that out,as he gets savaged by his fellow Republicans over his oh so messy personal life.

I guess Sanity was so busy pulling up Drudge links that he missed the news.

While Sanity was bitching about France and the UK sending planes before us , we were launching missile attacks.

Poor Sanity late and ill informed as always.
