When I was a kid, I had a lil spider that crawled on the wall. I called him "Boots". The cat was the problem, one day Boots just disappeared and we had no doubt where he had gone.

RIP Boots.

I spend 20 years in South Africa. Despite the fact that they have muliple types of venomous snakes, spiders and scorpions i never actually seen anybody been bitten so I can´t really understand the fuss about it. I also do find those animals fascinating and have on many occasions had 6-7 inch tarantulas running on my hands and body. They really are cute when you get to know them. The same goes for constrictor snakes. Lovely animals to study and play with. Just one word of caution. Do not handle anything you do not know what is. Specially on the snake front some of the highly venomous can be easily mistaken for a harmless constrictor. The green emerald tree snake and the green mamba is a typical example. The real dangerous creature there is 2 legged, black and sits in the driving seat of a taxi as they call them. That makes me real scared, as they drive like lunatics.

I wish more cab drivers drove without regard instead of intentionally taking the long way and making sure to hit every red-light.
