subbykat your maturity is suspect here. A forum is for sharing ideas and not everyone is going to agree with your ideas. I can tell you that it is not healthy to have suicidal thoughts. You may want to talk with someone about them before they spiral out of control.

Domiguy i would end that to what human being doesnt have self esteem issues though some are more alarm worthy than others.

There are people who put up with that kind of behavior and like it.

If you like something, then you don't put up with it. You are still implying that to be mouthy is bad. You are still making a judgment and claiming it applies to all submissives. I don't put up with things I love, I embrace them.

And what you call mouthiness may well be what I call sparkling wit. Here it is welcome.

I didn't give her any shit to start with, but she has been insulting me in my other thread too.

I'm not sure if you know this, but you don't "own" threads you contribute to, even if you start them. They are not "yours".

It's a public forum, and everyone is free to have their say, within certain acceptable bounds of behaviour. Therefore, if you post something, you are bound, simply by the law of averages, to get a number of replies you don't like.

That's the thing about public forums ... they're public. If you consistently dislike another poster's responses to your posts, simply place them on "Hide" and you won't have to bother with them again. Or start your own moderated web site, and only allow people to post to it who agree with you. I would imagine that might get rather dull rather swiftly though.

This really depends on the year...some years have been better on the ol self esteem than others...

Since the beginning of this year, I have had pretty good self esteem, and I don't plan on letting it go down hill anymore...

But never know what next year will bring!

The human race moves forward and that is a good thing. For all of us.

Wow, I have to say I am shocked by what I have read here.

I thought this forum was for mature grown up people in mature relationships who wanted to speak to others and get advice about being in a D/s relationship or other lifestyle choices. I have not seen hardly any of that. The only thing I have seen is a bunch of "grown adults" acting like children. It is a real turn off for a new person. I know I would never ask for advice or want to share anything personal here. I would be afraid someone would call me names, make fun of me or just laugh.

No, it is forum for those who identify as submissive, whether we are currently in a relationship, or not.

So, those who weighed in to help the OP (which was most of the first couple of pages of this thread) just don't count?

There are several replies to this thread that are nothing like you describe, so in attacking those whom you do not appreciate, you negate everyone posting here. How mature is this behavior?

I am sorry that your ego is so fragile that you fear strangers calling you names, making fun of you, etc etc etc.... I fail to see how the person asking for advice on this thread was called any name at all, and I can tell you, I never laughed at her. I can tell you, many of us have been in a similar situation of being into someone who was only halfheartedly into us. It is a regrettable situation to be in, but it does present learning opportunities for those who would want to learn from it.

On this forum you will find many of us that do not sugarcoat our words, some of us that debate the matters at hand amongst each other, others that will at times fill in the missing gaps with our own assumptions (I have done this one myself a few times), but that does not mean there isn't heartfelt advice here from people who have been through it a time or two.

Some people are too sensitive to seek advice in a place like this, and those people shouldn't be seeking advice from the internet anyways..... I do not think I would seek advice here myself, because no one here is mind readers, they do not know my entire story, and they would probably tell me what I already knew in my heart anyhow.
