i don't mind a guy who "manscapes" (haha what a funny word) -- i honestly get irritated by men who DEMAND that women shave, and yet can't be bothered to even trim. i always mention this but there was a thread on another site (dance-related) where a man had joined a belly dance troupe. they wore Melodias, which are these adorable dance pants with huge flares and a slit up to the thigh -- the man wore them, too, but didn't want to shave (which does look DISGUSTING) with Melos). the women in the troupe wanted advice on how to approach him in regards to this, and all the other male dancers got up in arms saying
[:@][:@][:@][:@]"OMGZ NO MAN SHOULD BE MADE TO SHAVE!!!!!!"[:@][:@][:@][:@]

ummmmmmm. yeah.

i think most women just don't really mind hair, but shaved chick bits look pretty pre-pubescent, too, but we've managed, as a culture, to mostly redefine that look in this particular era. =p
if a guy likes to shave, then he can shave. if he doesn't, he can avoid it. trimming is always acceptable. i don't really care. at the end of the day my ideas on masculinity aren't based on hair, and my ideas on who he is as a person, and my attraction to/relationship with him hopefully come from somewhere other than what he does with his body hair.

FR:

I'm a big fan of the manscape. It doesn't neccesarily have to be smooth as a baby's bottom, but closely trimmed and manicured. I think it looks nicer, more inticing, and getting a few loose pubes in my mouth is a huge turn off.

NS: I have a male friend I travel with alot. He's alot like you only a trimmer not a weeder, every morning when we are on vacation I hear the buzz of his trimmer and I giggle cuz I know he's giving himself his daily pruning.

needlesandpins -> RE: Let's Talk About "Manscaping." (3/22/2011 8:03:40 AM)

i have a friend who shaves herself completely while i prefer a hollywood with a little strip left. however, her mum is very anti complete bald for either sex saying that it looks pre-pubescent. now, while i don't have a daughter i have seen enough of my nieces naked to know that i and 99.9% of the women i have seen look nothing like that. nore does a shaved guy look like a little boy. i think it's a rather silly thing to say really. my pussy looks nothing like that of a little girl, just as my playmate's cock looks nothing like that of a little boy. as a whole picture you are with an adult, not a child and there is a huge difference.

have your preference for smooth or haired, yes. but using children as the reason against smooth is just wrong in itself and very implicational to those of us who prefer it. i actually get quite angry about this for very personal reasons, but it's still a wrong thing to say. no-one has any need to shave any part of their body, nore guys their face, and yet we all do. be that underarms, legs, face....whatever.......but it's all hair that grows after pubety. so can you say a man looks like a boy because he saves his face? a woman looks like a girl because she shaved under her arms and her legs? no it's silly to say such a thing and that applies to what's between our legs too.

LaTigresse -> RE: Let's Talk About "Manscaping." (3/22/2011 8:34:47 AM)

Buttttttttttttt, if that is their reason/feeling, regardless of whether you or I like it or not, they are free to express their feeling.

Personally, I see it and think tacky porn star. Whatever people think when they view shaved or un-shaved is a personal preference thing. It is not a political statement, or even a moral one.

needlesandpins -> RE: Let's Talk About "Manscaping." (3/22/2011 9:08:29 AM)

but it's a comparison that is just wrong. a child and an adlut look nothing alike. my friend's mum is very adament that she thinks that any guy who wants to have sex with a shaved woman does so because he really wants to have sex with a girl. she has said that anyone who has sex with someone smooth is a paedo. that includes me. she is not alone in that thinking either. it's a stupid way to think and has huge implications when saying it. i'm all for personal preference, as i said, but to compair a smooth adult to a child is silly.

peachgirl -> RE: Let's Talk About "Manscaping." (3/22/2011 10:12:08 AM)

I like girls to look like girls and guys to look like guys. I've never been a fan of guys that are smooth and clean all over, only because I personally don't find that attractive, and basically, once I'm in love with them it doesn't really matter any more.

For myself I am not a fan of the garden growing wild, I've found that the landing strip is a happy medium, plus you never have to worry about throwing a swimsuit or sexy underwear on at the last minute. Laser hair removal is the miracle some of us were waiting for.

As far as a loose hair getting in my mouth every now and then, so what? It's SEX for cryin' out loud. It's not going do be all clean and airbrushed...not if it's any good, that is [:D]

By now (except those living in Kentucky...kidding) you have all heard about the term, "manscaping."  I enjoy manscaping, and I am glad it is commonly accepted and even seen as desirable.  Body hair is something that disgusts me, and I have gone from shaving to waxing at the first signs of growth.

Now I know there's some historians out there that see body hair as a sign of masculinity or "rugged" however let me tell you that nothing beats the feeling of having such a smooth surface.  Your partner will love it too.  In fact, I think it is only fair that a man keep up his end of the bargain if a woman has to rid of her body hair!  Not only that, but it shows off your physique, and when you apply some baby oil to give it that shine....oooh, you'll be looking absolutely...dashing.

The road to being a well-groomed man is not cheap.  With exfoliating creams, and the like, you may find it a little expensive but in the end you will feel like you're driving a Corvette.  That Corvette is your body.  Let's face it...with manscaping you will make your woman feel even more appreciated.  Dominant or not, you will make her melt...not literally however, or that would be murder.

When you're a sex icon in your community, you will walk down the street with that extra bounce in your step.  You will take your shirt off at the beach.  You will point to that cute valley-girl and wink at her.  You will be one step closer...to excellence.

Thank you for your time.

I kind of think you are thinking about this one... way too much.
How other guys should look. [:D]

He is perfect in his non-man scape for me.
He does away with, or trims hair where it is practical or considerate... but I love his hairy chest.

I am glad smooth works for you. Kudos to your being in touch with the tactile sensuousness of that from your personal POV.

Youth tends to be rather narrow in thought... and experience... in my own very humble and biased opinion.

maybemaybenot -> RE: Let's Talk About "Manscaping." (3/22/2011 11:20:41 AM)

I should clarify my earlier post: When I said manscaping it was in reference to the pubic area. As for the other areas, I don't care one way or another. Either is fine.

I've had more than one occasion in which after I had swallowed, a pubic hair or 2 have gotten stuck in the back of my throat, to far back to use my finger to pull up, and I have wretched and gagged uncontrollably for quite a few minutes, barely able to catch my breath. Maybe it's my own gag reflex or something, but I couldn't " cough it up" nor get it down with a drink. I've sent men into a panic thinking I am choking to death.. lol.

In the last 20 or so years I haven't encountered many men who don't trim their pubic area to some degree. It's certainly not a pre requisite, but definately a preference. In a perfect world, as they say...

From my humorous picture files: manscaping...

DesFIP -> RE: Let's Talk About "Manscaping." (3/22/2011 1:18:57 PM)

Too many years of Fire Island makes me automatically assume shaved = gay. All those gay guys shaved and oiled out on the beach displaying everything like meat in a grocery store, all laid out for the shoppers to pore over.

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Let's Talk About "Manscaping." (3/22/2011 1:51:34 PM)

Men should be fuzzy........all under. I honestly have never understood the shaving of the genital area by either sex. It just looks gross to me. Plus, I like a lil hair ticklin my nose when I am humming the Star Spangled Banner and watching his eyes roll back in his head....

LadyPact -> RE: Let's Talk About "Manscaping." (3/22/2011 2:48:02 PM)

I've always held the position that I prefer male submissives to be shaved and have the chest hair removed.  If I want to engage in fire play, I do NOT want to smell burnt hair.

I always say girls that like hairy guys must have a beastiality fetish.

It's probably also an "age" thing.  I mean, you wouldn't want to see a completely shaved/waxed 50+ year old guy as you would see a 24 year old.

At the end of the day I doubt any guy that does it cares being called effeminate or childish.  As you being proof, we usually end up winning! ;)

Hi needles, but we are going to disagree on this one, if for nothing more than common sense.
When do we grow hair?  ..........After Puberty. So, it makes sense that to some people seeing a grown man with bald hairless balls and a penis looks like a "pre-pubescent" young man.

It always has, always will, and I can't help what I see when a guy drops trou and I see that. It's a turn off. It's like when I see a totally shaved pussy, it just makes me think of what I looked like when I was pre-pubescent. I just don't like it. I keep a strip, and shaved below, it even makes me think I am looking at a weirdly overgrown girl when I have shaved fully in the past. I wouldn't do it again for anyone, it makes me cringe.

That's why they are called preferences. I do not think that men or women that like fully shaved have a thing for minors, that's ridiculous. The aesthetics are just not my thing.
