Sanity -> RE: Wisconsin call for violence - where it really came from. (3/28/2011 3:36:48 AM)

Not against peaceful protesters, thats absurd. Theres a point rioters and those who purposely derail the democratic process have to be forcefully restrained and brought under control but the right to gather and the right to protest is essential.

I agree, Sanity. Why havent you spoken out about Cox? Do you advocate the use of ammo in this situation? The use of deadly force?

Carlos Lam, a Republican activist and Indiana deputy prosecutor, has resigned amid revelations that he sent an email calling for a fake attack on Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker designed to discredit union protesters.

Walker, a Republican, was the target of protests for his efforts to roll back many union collective bargaining rights in his state. In a Feb. 19 email uncovered by the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism, Lam apparently told Walker he had a "good opportunity" to win public sympathy with a "'false flag' operation."

"If you could employ an associate who pretends to be sympathetic to the unions' cause to physically attack you (or even use a firearm against you), you could discredit the unions," read the email. It went on to say that the effort "would assist in undercutting any support that the media may be creating in favor of the unions."

..........

The protests against Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker's efforts to roll back most union collective bargaining rights have been, thankfully, free of violence - so much so that some protesters have been spotted in knitting circles. But the same cannot be said of the rhetoric around the protests, which has included calls for firing on the protesters and for the protesters themselves to "get a little bloody" for their cause.

The call for firing on protesters came from now-former Indiana Deputy Attorney General Jeff Cox, who responded to a Tweet from a Mother Jones reporter saying riot police have been ordered to clear protesters by retweeting the news with the words "Use live ammunition." He also wrote, "You're damn right I advocate deadly force" and, one week ago, "Planned Parenthood could help themselves if the only abortions they performed were retroactive."

Cox lost his job over the Tweets; the Indiana Attorney General's office released a statement reading in part, "We respect individuals' First Amendment right to express their personal views on private online forums, but as public servants we are held by the public to a higher standard, and we should strive for civility."

Now, Im not saying Walked did any of the things suggested to him. But for Walker and Co to cry that the Unions were violent... sorta funny in the light of the knitting circles comment... seems alot like the pot calling the kettle black.

Wow, that is sorta funny. In and inSANE sort of way

I love this, you cant make this kind of comedy up. [:D]

tazzy starts this thread worrying that some nobody state activist / deputy prosecutor could have violent leanings, and I guess we are all supposed to be just, absolutely gravely concerned and vote Democratic the rest of our lives due to this...

Meanwhile on another thread one of our oh-so open minded, and warm and fuzzy super cuddly liberal types openly brags that he daydreams about murdering innocent people with his car and we arent supposed to even notice it (I am guessing).

At least, no one has so much as raised an eyebrow over his statement yet...

Whats great is you started a thread based on this "thuggery" which turned out to be a lie but you still argue the point!  I think wilbur will be shedding a tear as he reads this cause he is so proud of you

sure...Cox is a stupid ass who should be fired. He was fired...so his boss showed that he could do the right thing.

Now though, how about this guy's bosses, the voters? Sometimes it's necessary to get out on the streets and "get a little bloody," a Massachusetts Democrat said Tuesday in reference to labor battles in Wisconsin.

Rep. Michael Capuano (D-Mass.) fired up a group of union members in Boston with a speech urging them to work down in the trenches to fend off limits to workers' rights like those proposed in Wisconsin.

"I’m proud to be here with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an email to get you going," Capuano said, according to the Statehouse News. "Every once and awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary."

Or this guy's boss, which happens to be the Washington Post?

The Washington Post’s leftwing mouthpiece, Greg Sargent, who they ostensibly pay to be an objective reporter is on twitter demanding that unions in Wisconsin get violent to get their way.

In what we can presume is unrelated to Greg Sargent’s call, a Fox News reporter was attacked by union thugs in Wisconsin.

Once I pointed out on Twitter that Sargent was calling for unions to get violent in Wisconsin, Sargent declared he was not promoting violence despite actually writing on twitter:

Dear union thugs: Will you please get violent in Wisconsin already? Pretty please?
d
Do you suppose that these two nutcase's bosses...the voters and the Washington Post...will do what is right, as the Indiana Atty. General's office did and fire these two?

I thought it was a police action in the airport bathrooms got him beat up.

Who knows, who gets fired for what?   I assume you all are wanting to disgrace and fire all the talk show people and politicians who call people nazis, call for armed revolt and so on.

It's a pity Chuck Norris is between jobs, or they could fire him for all of that shite about separatist terrorist cells and the need to violently depose the Kenyan he was spouting in '09.

In your madness you may believe that your posting that you can hardly resist driving your car up on a sidewalk due to the Republican bumpkins there, or however you put it, is "ringing a bell" but the reality is youre just suffering from some sort of rabid dementia, and I feel deeply sorry for your next of kin, those people around you who have to put up with you. .

The part I addressed, the Cox situation.

Certainly seems clear to me that is what Cox was suggesting with his tweet about live ammo and deadly force.
