Ok, Kirata, I agree with you.  I have no problems with people collecting unemployment.  I think 99 weeks, which is more than enough time to earn an MBA, is pretty extreme.  I have no problem with subsidizing veterans or the handicapped.  I have no problem with subsidizing the elderly.  I do have a problem with subsidizing healthy people that simply will not work.  I also have a problem with paying 95% of someone's pension or healthcare.  I hold cops and corrections officers in reasonably high regard.  I think it is a little......tilted?.......when a cop routinely pulls down in excess of $150,000.00 per year.  Or when one of our school superintendents pulls down $750,000 per year.  Or the Port Authority cop that was pulling in $340,000.00 per year.  I have a problem with that shit and it is rampant in NJ.  I have a problem with funding "cowboy poetry" readings also.

You are absolutely right!  Tuning in to this thread makes what I have said sound extremist.  But if you read back, you will see my sentiments are exactly what I have just said.

It is everyone's duty to live as independently as they possibly can.  Would you agree with that?  Would you agree that funding 95% of the pensions and health care of public servants is unfair to taxpayers, especially taxpayers that don't earn a salary that is derived from the collection of taxes?

ill Obama be able to bring out the record number of voters that he did in 2008?

No. My nephew (then age 18) and I had several heated discussions about 0bama0, who he voter for with great enthusiasm.
0bama0 has already converted him to Republican; he tells me the mood on campus is radically different now.......
For now, at least, the "youth vote" is thoroughly disenchanted.
He will of course get 97% of the black vote.....

Ha! My nephew had a poster hanging in his room of Obama staring off into space a few years ago and my sister told me it's no longer there! lol
Yesterday he listened to VP "Uncle Joe" Biden speak at U.N.H. about some "initiative" to stop rape or something. "Not impressed."
"And when I was a boy in Penn. .....or was it Delaware.........."
"My favorite color? OOOOh, a hardball, Red of course............."

There is a basis in fact for everything I have said.  Do a little Googling, show us your mental prowess.  On to better things?  Like what...getting a subsidy check?  Applying for government cheese?  Demanding your 40 acres and a mule?  I'm sorry, I'm probably taking you away from your mid-day television programming.

What a joke!

No,you are making the claims...now cite some facts(with sources) to refute....otherwise ,yes it is quite the joke.
You post bullshit and expecting me to prove/disprove it for you is comical on its face....as are you.

Hey SlaveMike, do you like to wander around flea markets and garage sales in your off time?  Of course you do!!  I don't BUT I happened to find myself at a garage sale just the same.  I saw some books (not that books would interest you) and I came across a book entilted None-Dare-Call-It-Treason.  It was written in 1964 by a guy named....John Storm....I think.  Back then it sold for .75.

Anyway, it is a pretty phenomenal book.  One of the things you will glean from it immediately is that the chasm between the modern liberal and the conservative is so great that it will never be bridged.  The differences between the people that believe they have a right to be supported or subsidized through the efforts of others and those that believe that people have an obligation/responsibility to support themselves will never be reconciled.  Indeed, Storm agrees with Lenin that the only reconciliation is one side conquering the other.
No,I buy my books at Barnes and Noble....pay full price for them too. This I am able to do because my gov't  check arrives on time ,every time.Does that stick in your craw....tough shit asshole.

some thoughts from a 50 some-year-old.

It is solely my opinion that over the last 30+ years the identity of democrats and republicans as political groups have flipped personalities. and I am not sure when this happened. If I knew that I might know more about the nature of politics. Take a look at their statements in the 1970's and look a their statements currently. I think there has been a interesting change.

Awwwww....wazza matter?  Am I upsetting some freeloading hillbillies out there?  There, there, SlaveMike, take another hit off of your fake whiskey and relax.  No need for name calling.  I have an idea, SlaveMike, why don't you come up with a valid argument for a change.  Tell us how things like welfare and unemployment stimulates the economy in the long run as was proffered by Nancy Pelosi.  And if her rediculous argument is true, tell us why the U.S. wouldn't be in its best shape ever if we were all on welfare or unemployment.  Go on Mike...you have everyone's rapt attention.

Wouldn't it have been so much easier if you had posted this with your initial claims and not looked like a petulant 17 year old in later posts?

I would have accepted a clearer explanation and simpler ways of verifying information used. Gov figures are great resource as long as you trust the govmnt, and in this case  who else are you gonna believe, however, figuring out his method is not simple, and very convoluted, and I dont have the time or the inclination to verify each figure and graph.
so Im not disputing the figures because  I'm not doing the research, just sharing the "authors background"

Oh too funny!  So f**king typical.  A liberal moron fool disputes my posts, provides no information, no facts, no argument other than his stunted and intellectually vacuous feelings and then he and Lucy criticize the source!  SlaveMike, you haven't addressed anything I have said because you lack the knowledge and the ambition to get the knowledge.

As far as your post, Hillwilliam, go back and read the thread.  I posted my sources when it was appropriate to do so.

Liberals are losers, that is the extent of it.  You need the non-government employed working class to support you because there is no way you could support yourselves.  What is the old saying, "those who can, do!  Those who can't teach?"  What is the other one about law students?  The A students become judges, the B students become law professors and the C students become millionaires?

The public tit is running dry, liberal-losers.  What are you going to do then?

Perhaps you should calm down....high blood pressure is,after all,the silent killer.

locked, you said you posted sources when it was appropriate. It is appropriate to post sources EVERY TIME you make a claim that isn't substanciated otherwise.

If you dont, those on the boards tend to call it "Unsubstanciated bullshit that someone made up and pulled out of their ass"

That is true for Righties, Lefties and Centrists.

It is not the job of those refuting a claim to dig up the info for the initial claim here. It is the job of those who make the initial claim to document it. That is kind of an "unwritten rule" of the P & R boards.

I hope that helps.
