Gitmo is a fucking abortion, a disaster, something Obama should have sorted out long ago as his first priority, for imprisoning people snatched from where they were in the world and refusing to give them a fair trial speaks volumes about American freedom to many parts of the world. Who knows it might even be Gitmo that is the reason for the present round of dislike for the US. But, I have noticed of late America is learning how to circumvent it's own rules. Gitmo is not on US soil so US rules of justice do not apply, Abu Graib the word 'torture' was discouraged in all documentation and replaced with the word ; ' abuse' so America would not come under fire for torturing prisoners. America believes it has it sorted, but those across the world see otherwise, Abu Ghraib was not abuse, neither is what has been reported to happen at Gitmo and Gitmo itself as I said earlier is damaging the US.

I can't agree with that...I do see a 4th possibility one that starts with,whether anyone likes it or not...Rome wasn't built in a day...and goes on to... What looked good and achievable when a candidate....turned out to be a bigger hot potato when he actually sat in that Chair behind that Desk.The difficulty he is having in finding his way out of this box is one not of his own making.He assumed office and learned that the disposition of those men was not going to be as simple as issuing the order....where were they to go.....Military tribunals...civilian courts...what about the ones with which no charges could be sustained.....and yet their countries of origin...or locale of arrest refused to have them back.Surely he was counseled concerning the number of future terrorists Bush's little cuban version of Club Med had millitarized for all time against the west and whatever local gov't had a hand in turning them over. Does anyone believe future holy warriors weren't fermented in that camp?Saudi Arabia doesn't want them back ,Dubai...the Emirates,there would be blood in the streets were he to announce that he was releasing any of these men and than letting them stay here.His impeachment hearings would begin the next day. No,I'm not ready to ask for my money back...I believe he has gone as far as he could as fast as he could....and that those things not yet complete....were by and large things we should have realized given the blow back he wouldn't be allowed to complete.We elected a President...not a king .He deserves the second term...he is ,and I knew he was,a politician....they seem to be bolder when they never again have to face the electorate.

No it doesn't...as it does not include the proposition that he was "clueless".Perhaps you are asserting that the view from that Chair is not unique? If you concede it is indeed "unique" and that nothing else,save actually sitting there,can approximate the experience,the perspective and the pressures...than it is patently impossible to charge him with "clueless" nor as Panda ,as is his right,refered to him as an"arrogant fraud of a man". He wants his change back....I am of a mind to double down and let it ride.

Slvmk, none of what you listed was a surprise, everyone knew all those things. If Obama didn't, he was clueless and gettign his Foreign Policy plans from Rachel Madow.. However, you are incorrect in saying, "the ones with which no charges could be sustained" It should be qualified, "the ones with which no charges could be sustained, without exposing undercover assests and/ or methods of gathering Intelligence" Obama has had the chance to have his people review the evidence.

Have admitted to faults on the right. Many on the right are decrying Reverend Phelps and Reverenc Jones. Show me an instance of someone on the left attacking someone else on the left...not for not being "progressive enough" but for their actions...and then talk to me of Kool-Aid. You are one of the best examples of someone drinking the Kool-Aid but here's your chance to prove that not all on the left are.
