Sorry, but your facts are fuzzy.

The dollar isn't on the decline next to other currencies--in fact, it's still where international investors are turning.

The U.S. has borrowed quite a bit from China, but much more from the EU. The majority of the debt is still held by U.S. citizens.

In short...you lent us the money. Seems you consider us a good investment still. That's because we're 1/5 of the global economy, twice the the GDP of China.

Hien is right, though--NONE of that has ANYTHING to do with what I posted about building efficient homes and vehicles, which benefits us all.

so its the US citizens are teh bastards that are inflating into oblivion huh

those bastards!  Dont they know it raises the price of everything?

Oh give me a fucking break!   If they wanted to benefit EVERYONE they would have had tesla towers delivering nearly free energy, internet, phone, remote viewing, and power for our cars and anything conceivable worldwide for over 100 years.

for our benefit lmao

Getting back to the topic, gas prices are expected to rise up to 1.35 a liter here in toronto
also mention of a boycott thru facebook, which tons of people said they had heard about and wanted to join in, but had to fill  up their cars because of cheaper prices.
A boycott is unrealistic.
Now why cant I blame obama? oh ya, cos its got FA to do with him

Which ticks me off no end, as represented in your last sentence there.

Why are all these good engineers in Germany or the UK or the US or India not being put to such task already?

Because the details of furtherance of oil extraction pays better than anything else, so that's where they go.

Not to mention the large sums spent by the oil companies to repress other options. Someone on these boards posted recently about the Wisconsin law that specifically excludes wind or solar from whatever new plan for land usage. And then there's the California Prop 87 that they spent many millions on to defeat.

No one said anything about cant afford it, youre making things up now. But if fuel prices are hurting the poor, now that you mention it - why laugh at them?

Certain people need larger vehicles, some need an SUVs  or trucks for various reasons. Ranching or other business needs, navigating bad roads, hauling mixed loads. Deny it all you want but youre denying reality. Why do Dems want to drive prices up for these people then laugh about what it does to them and to the economy. Why should we be sending all these billions of dollars over to the Middle East or devoting farmland to growing fuel when we could be drilling for oil right here, providing jobs right here, and helping the economy rather than purposely destroying it

Have a large family but cant afford it? I cant seem to shed a tear.

As far as liberty talk, no one is saying you cant drive one. Just dont bitch about it when you cant afford the toys you decide to play with.

Funny that you didn't worry so much about the poor when Moodys and Standard and Poors beat down every state level attempt against predatory lending laws and Countrywide et. al. sub-prime loansharking operations.

Honestly, just how many Dodge Rams does the economy need to keep foreclosing houses on  people who just lost their jobs because of all the "creates jobs" deregulation and further tax money to billionaires?

I have repeatedly mentioned it, in post after post that you have responded too, in reference to your comment about "liberty".

Businesses get the tax write off for their equipment, and their gas.

You have offered no proof the Dems are driving up the cost of gasoline, while I have offered opinions that they are not be experts.

Good questions to ask the politicians on both sides of the isle. You continue to blame one said, when its both who are perpetuating this.

Now, for my question, lets say we start drilling today? How soon before we see any reaction in the markets? Before they are up and running and producing actual crude? What grade of crude will they produce? And will it really be cheaper, in both costs and the environment than what we are doing now?

Or would it actually be cheaper to conserve and reduce consumption?

subtract the inflation since 1900 and tell me where the stock market would be if there were no inflation between then and now.

then ask yourself about speculation.  LOL

The government controls the economy?

You say something that is so indisputably idiotic, and yet expect to be taken seriously in any regard?

Here's the news, if you are ready for it.

I have read all that stuff that you are reading now, well over 20 years ago.

But unlike yourself, I read many things before that and many things after that.

Heaven help me being stuck on what gold sellers were telling me and never moving forward.

You find affinity with those wanting to avoid paying for services provided by the government, at least some of which objection I can understand.

But understand this too:

The most successful economies in the world completely stomp all over your notions of what the US constitution says, or whether it's actually owned by the crown, or whatever laws or amendments to constitutions say, or whatever it actually means by your own analysis, etc.

Here's a clue.

Neither Germany nor Sweden nor Denmark nor Switzerland nor even the Czeck Republic come anywhere close to what you proclaim as the best and final solution. They all have central banks, they all have fiat currencies. Yet they all have better economic stats than the US. And that's before we get to the incarceration rate, or the infant mortality rate, or the overall health costs, all of which leaves the US well into  third world territory.

But you want more of the same, within our own borders, right?

Have you sent your check to T. Boone Pickens lately?

Questions for the "Drill baby Drill" (DBD) crowd.

What is the per diem cost of leasing a jack-up rig rated for 25000 ft?
What is the jack-up rig utilization rate?
How many rigs are in the pipeline?

The range on jack up rig is dependent on the depth of the water they would be drilling in, it runs from about $50K to $150K depending on the depth it is design to operate at and the speed and so forth on the rig, this rate is for a fully crewed and operated rig.

Right now the utilization in US waters is way down due to the moratorium on drilling in the gulf, offshore drilling is still suffering quite seriously from the close shore or shallowater bans and the deepwater bans as well.

The current rig count including on shore is 1772 which is up 345 from last year..

By the way, at 3 am this morning I was on a rig in Stanton, TX where were you mr hippie?

I am very well known in the casing and inspection business and have been in the oil and gas business for a good while, I have been a partner in several API threading and inspection facilities in the Houston area and I currently do drive one of my own trucks, I own several. I drive because I like it, and I hate being in an office, but I can walk into the offices of NFR Energy, Nabors Drilling, Tenaris, Chevron, Halliburton, Schlumberger, Technip, Mustang, Patterson, MI SWACO, Exxon Mobil, and meet with VP level execs at every one of them who have been to dinner with me. My offices in the Galleria in Houston have had more oil execs in them than you can name and if you think I am just "some trucker" you might want to ask some oil men before you speak too loudly.

If you are in oil and gas you might have heard of the Escravos EGTL project, I worked with KBR, Chevron, Halliburton, Charville Consultores and dozens of other companies to handle the logistics on the first three phases of the project. I worked with Technip on so many offshore projects that I cannot even list them all here without taking two pages, and I am just a trucker who is very well educated and very good at what I do, and you may be good too, but the truth of it is that you seem like a guy who thinks that barry o has done some good. If that is the case you must have eaten an awful lot of those shrooms back in the day and now you are having trouble seeing the truth in front of your face.

BTW, when B.O. takes away the itemized deductions from all the rich people I will be leaving with my money, the people who work for me can go collect unemployment because I will not be going broke to support the ideals of a marxist.

I see comments on how there need to be incentives on electric cars...where does electricity come from? It is generated by gas, oil, coal, and nuclear energy for over 97% of the energy generated in the USA. If you want to see lower fuel prices which are directly linked to a healthy economy, then you must open up ANWAR and the Gulf of Mexico to drilling. You must lift the EPA restrictions on building new oil refineries in the USA and you must not take the incentive for investment in oil and gas exploration (profit) away from the oil companies by taxing the soup out of them.

You want your stupid little electric car? Fine, do not expect the rest of us to want this assinine piece of crap.

While more drilling would be of some help, the lack of refineries is the real crux of the matter. Until the EPA(and other government)restrictions are removed, there won't be any new refineries built. Therefore, no surplus of crude will solve the problem. High fuel costs are the biggest single factor influenceing the economy...and the economy won't improve until this issue is addressed...and solved. The EPA being one of the worst things foisted off on the American public in the last 50 years.

This poster is correct...electric cars won't solve the problem in the US.

'hawk

2 things on that.

1. The refineries we have right now are not running at full capacity. During the last runup in prices a couple of years ago, Exxon actually SHUT DOWN one of its refineries and didnt run the others over 90% capacity. Why would they do that except to manipulate the supply of gasoline? At this point in time, the demand is the lowest it has been in years so look for them to do it again.

2. Your 'where does electricity come from?' is correct. That is why we need to look at OTHER methods of extracting electrical energy. As I said before, petroleum is way too important to burn. Solar and Wind show a lot of promise. Fusion can hopefully be brought online but it will take a national will to ignore the people that are spending millions to discourage it because that hurts their highly profitable business model.

I agree that the refineries need to be up and running and producing fuels and all the other good things they make. I know that most refineries are not running at full capacity, and I asked one of my buddies who operates the Fina refinery in Big Spring, TX why this was, he told me (I respect his answer because I think he is honest) that the EPA limits them on so many levels that they really are not able to open up to full capacity most of the time due to rules on particulates and so forth.

There has not been a single new gasoline and or diesel refinery permitted for construction in the United States for over thirty years due to the level of regulation put in place by the EPA. You will never hear me advocating that we should operate unsafe or dirty refineries, we should give it our best attention and try to make the process as clean and safe as possible.

Fusion would be awesome, however research in the field has been stymied at every turn by morons who think that things like the super conducting super collider which was to be built in Texas will " open a black hole and suck the Earth into it". Really, remember the protestors? Cold fusion is at this time pretty much a myth, and I honestly do not know how one could get energy from it, so hot fusion it is and that has huge containment issues. I would have to say I would love to see it developed, but fission reactor technology needs to be exploited until that time.

Juust because three out of the four businesses I own at least a part of deal with oil and gas does not mean that I am opposed to wind energy or solar, but currently we are producing only a fraction of one percent of our overall electrical energy from wind and solar, so we have natural gas and coal, along with hydro power (geez do we even want to mention how many people just love to hate a dam?) to generate electricity. The whole idea of an electric car being a "green" mode of transportation is hilarious. To make the green car you have to make the batteries, which are filled with toxic chemicals, you have to have electricity from somewhere to charge the batteries and my guess is that there is no electric fairy charging the thing up LOL.

Anyways, energy is the key to our economy.

You need to approximate the value of the stock market in 1916 and remove all inflation up to this date today and see what you have left!  LOL

You will discover there is no fucking growth that significantly exceeds population growth.

just inflation adjustment.
