FR

I've tried.

Copy/paste from 3 different sources to something as simple as notepad (after trying word) and back could not eliminate the font hijack, and no local font direction could fix it before or after either. So the initial post will stand as it is for posterity.

As if it mattered.

As evidenced by the responses thusfar, the point is completely lost, whatever the font.

Comprehension isn't what it used to be, and others grew up in a spitballing-allowed class.

Time wasted.

Questions for the "Drill baby Drill" (DBD) crowd.

What is the per diem cost of leasing a jack-up rig rated for 25000 ft?
What is the jack-up rig utilization rate?
How many rigs are in the pipeline?

Oh shoops Hippie, you presented reality. That equates to delusion for some ( on your part according to them, just to make it more entertaining)

Allow me to be the first to tell you that you are dreaming, because the oil companies need the US to keep the trucks, and will never allow the overwhelming power of the three largest newly emerging economies, with combined population of 2.75  billion people driving inevitably forth all commodity prices from here on out, to affect the the concerns of a 306 million population country from ever feeling any affects of their growth at all, would they? Them oil companies just would never allow it, because WE say everything, not those other people, right?

Explain the point, if it has been lost. I'm guessing it's one you wanted to make. ETA : So, you disagree, and see Hippie for explanation of the point?!

I agree Kitten, but Obama can't seem to find his cojones, to do the right thing, and tax the people who have money. His conceding to the Republican intrangisence has become an all too familiar approach on his part.

I'm very happy to see you posting too kitten. M

The point was that there are other drivers to the market than US trucks, and that European countries tax the market.

PS

If you accuse someone presenting something tangible of  'dreaming', the coffee's on you.

US trucks aren't it.

PPS

I don't "disagree," in retro time, the interaction with Hippie was another matter.

I never said US was the only oil consumer of significance. US is however, the largest oil consumer in the world, and Japan is in trouble. While I agree that your statement will be reality some day, I disagree, this is the day/month/year, given the fact that without speculative traders of commodity futures, we are perfectly comfortable with the current abundance of oil, and pricing.

quote:

http://depausa.org/media/view/oklahoma-news-report-cushing-oil
Prices at the pump don’t reflect it, but there is actually an oil glut at the hub in Cushing, Oklahoma. There is so much oil at the Cushing facility that extra storage capacity is under construction to hold it all

quote:

http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2011/04/goldman-speculators-driving-up-price-of-oil/237207/
Goldman Sachs chief energy analyst David Greely said the recent run-up in prices, in which Brent rallied as much as 33 percent since the start of the year, looked overdone.

"While prices are back at levels of spring 2008, supply-demand fundamentals are significantly less tight," Greely said in an April 12 note emailed to clients.

"We believe that the market will experience a substantial correction toward our $105 a barrel near-term target for Brent crude oil in coming months," he stated
.

quote:

http://peakoildebunked.blogspot.com/2008/05/355-banks-hoard-oil-in-storage-tanks.html
The oil futures market has gone into a state known as "contango". I'm not going to go into any detail on the specifics -- if you're curious just do some googling. As a layman, all you really need to know is that, thanks to some complicated financial mumbo-jumbo, banks will now begin to hoard oil in storage tanks, driving up the price. And then they will sell that oil back to the public for obscene windfall profits

All quickly googled grasping aside, the most recent phenomenea were not the point of my post, for discerning readers, nor is it the concern of anyone concerned with real issues, and what the  discussions are about at all the conferences.

Thank you for that last one though, that was quite a hoot.

Totally made my day.

I only googled, because with your condescending attitude, I doubt you'd believe my posting that the information referenced, is in fact, information I've read/known before today.

You're also the only person arriving at my not being concerned with real issues. When I said "we are not going to change our behaviors, to align selves with global concerns regarding oil," I meant, our US behavior in general. If we were so concerned with oil consumption, we would have a much larger hybrid market, even if it required govenrment subsidizing.
You didn't think I should have stated the facts as I saw them. You want to feel more informed/concerned, go for it. When you say something I don't already know, I'll thank you for it, and we'll both feel like you were worthy. M

Yes, a lengthy and detailed explanation  of the gas price and and economic and trade balance considerations as derived from professional papers on the subject being met by a dismissive "you are dreaming", "the US needs the trucks" by way of some spit balling 'Joe sidewalk TV watcher' who never reads past the first paragraph of anything (as obvious in this case) US-centric response constitutes me being "condescending."

Got it.

Not that this is a surprise.

That would be Jane sidewalker tv watcher to you. Of course only you read, and can have a valid opinion. And CNBC gets street walkers, not informed participants, to opine on financial markets regarding commodity basics. You dismissed everything else I said, because of "you're dreaming," if you think today is the day Americans will be sufficiently spooked, to accept $5/gallon Gas, or consider alternatives. I didn't mean to offend you with those words. Everything else, I meant.

How do we test this validity of your expertiise? Gas prices go to $5, and remain there, or gas prices go down, because this Jane tv watcher believes the experts who say there is not the increase in demand to explain the spike in oild prices. There was also talk of speculative trades affecting oil prices in 2008, at which time, gasoline prices also began to retract.
The chickens may come home to on the US some day. Today is not that day, just yet. M

If Obama were nearly as smart as many leftists try to give him credit for he would be aware that its not just one guy who is being hurt by these skyrocketing fuel prices, and he wouldnt be mocking them, and yes in that video he is clearly mocking and laughing at those who are hurting, despite your spin.

Has this dude with 10 kids and an old beater car ever heard the saying "If you can't feed em, don't breed em"?

I wonder how much public assisitance I'm paying for to help this dude out.

I know it wasn't indicated but Ive noticed over the years that a hell of a lot of My tax money goes to feed and clothe people that just don't know what a condom is.

Rev.Marshall Mabry,a Pastor in Georgia is petitioning god for relief from high gas prices. He will lead his parish in a prayer vigil at a local gas station.
More power to him,for doing so.....but I would still like to see an emphasis on renewable energy sources,I mean one can only ask so much of God

Despite your natural inclination to think as much not everyone seeks public assistance. Some people just want the government to stay off their back and Dem environazi policies are designed to drive fuel prices up.

Man caused global warming is a hoax, it was dreamed up to make the Al Gores and the George Soroses and the Jeffry Imelts of the world wealthy beyond belief, and this guy and his kids shouldnt be forced to bear the brunt of this government caused crisis.

And yes, for a lot of people these fuel prices are a disaster, especially when you consider that we are devoting farmland toward growing fuel as people around the planet experience starvation.

As I said before. If ya cant feed em, don't breed em. This guy has TEN. Unless he's making 6 figures, that is NOT responsible. Either get clipped or stop fucking. Whatever happened to that Conservative concept called "Personal Responsibility"? Don't tell me you're turning liberal on Me.

As I wrote before, this new Obama economy isnt just hurting this one guy

My Conservative streak is the part where I wrote that Obamas policies are hurting the working poor and that it would be nice if the government (who is here to help ) werent deliberately burdening such people
