I think the smart person opts to not have their body disfigured.

But I'll let you think about that when you're getting inked up by a gangly punk with a neon green mohawk and combat boots named "Carver." [;)]

*snort*

I live in a city that's home to award-winning tattoo artists.  I don't think finding someone both talented and reputable will be a problem.

The smart person recognizes that his views are not necessarily shared by everyone, or even the majority, and learns to respect differences.

What can I say?  Some people just enjoy being wrong.

Luckily they mark themselves so I can see it easier.

[8|]  And some of them just open their mouths in public.

You're off your game, Chewtoy.  What happened while you were away?

I designed my tattoo about 15 years ago. I took ten years to decide to get it done. It's a simple (and some say elegant) line drawing of something that means a great deal to me. I love my tatttoo. And I gotta say, the guy who put it on me... have mercy. Pain, a little blood, "no you can not move", the smell of nag champa... I deliberately haven't gotten another one because the endorphin rush is addictive. I don't want to be an addict. In another ten years, I might get another one. Oh... wait, I had it done 5 years ago, I have another design I've made... yeah... 5 more years of thinking... :)

Nocturnal I truly do pity your naive and close minded attitude. People, cultures have been tattooing their bodies in various styles over the centuries. Tattoos are not a "new" fad. There are also many very talented and world known artists who have chosen to work as tattoo artists. I also think that your idea of tattoo shops is pathetic to say the least. Tattoo shops are inspected on a normal basis and artists are licensed.

Well you see, I go about my life in a different way.  While most people like to treat their bodies like sewers, I like to treat mine with respect.  Tell you what, when you're 60 and all wrinkled out, we'll see how well that "self-expression" went for you.  If I did get a tattoo, it would be a tattoo of directions to a laser removal center.  Hahaha.

Plus, they all look gross.  It's such a turn-off.

You, like everyone else here, are entitled to express your opinions about any old thing you'd like. But you are seriously bumping up against a line here. I have enjoyed your posts on other threads. But here, your bigotry shines through. I am not wholly without bigotry myself, seeing as how I am human. But I do attempt to not spew vitriol about other classes, ages, races, what-have-you. I am 65 years old & there are no wrinkles anywhere near my tattoos or piercings & I get compliments on them whenever I show them. Total strangers will walk up to me to compliment me on my art.

I understand that not everyone can appreciate artwork of every kind. However, you show yourself to be classless in your statements on this thread. I had expected much better of you. Shame on you!!!

RavenMoonSiren -> RE: tattoos and piercings (4/11/2011 5:32:43 PM)

the woman who pierces me used to be a kindergarten teacher. she dresses like a 50's housewife and the place looks like a well lit art museum. as a person who has had many piercings and has removed 8 of them i am no more disfigured than you are.

LanceHughes -> RE: tattoos and piercings (4/11/2011 5:49:50 PM)

I pierced my own left nipple back in 1980 since my lover at the time told me liked the look.  I had to send away to Gaunlet in LA, to get the ring, tools and DIY instructions.  I liked the feel so much, I sent for the second ring after a couple of weeks.

Used to go into the local leather bar shirtless and many patrons would oogle the piercings.  It was very unusual back then.

The rings have been replaced with heavier and larger rings over the years, but rarely out for any period of time.  Oh, wait!  When I went on a 2-week trip with Mom, I decided to take them out.  Yep, started to heal over, but I got them re-pierced ASAP when the trip was over.

Basically, both nipples pierced for more than 30 years!

Tats - probably never..... but never say "Never."  A gun to my head would have a line of 3 or 4 panthers around my left bicep..... My own design - specifically NOT the fairly common panther that is climbing downward.  Talk about popular flash!

Yeah, they also tend to be loud-mouthed as well.

But we shouldn't fight!  Let's hug it out.

It's like I once heard;

"Tattoos are just shitty drawings for people to think they have more depth than they actually do."

Here you go, Chewtoy.  I think you'll appreciate this more than anything I could say.

I don't hate you.

I just like hurting you.

You and every other female. [:(]

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: tattoos and piercings (4/11/2011 6:11:29 PM)

One might even think you enjoy it.

NocturnalStalker -> RE: tattoos and piercings (4/11/2011 6:14:14 PM)

I enjoy causing grief, as you can see for yourself. [;)]

I'd love to see a sketch or a pic of the outline!

I'm at work so I can't check, but I'm pretty sure there's a pic on my profile.  The "artist" who did the outline really messed it up, so I found someone much better who will be cleaning it up and finishing it in the near future.

ArizonaBossMan -> RE: tattoos and piercings (4/11/2011 6:16:48 PM)

tatted up girls should have face tats. Go all the way baby. Gross as possible. Mike Tyson has face tats. No more on this subject, muchachos.
