Congress being overwhelmingly republican and handling our money is not going to fetter capitalistic usuries at this time.

But hope springs eternal that some day republicans will retrace their roots and do exactly that.

Not only that-  but US owns a portion of GM.

Floors me how GM can charge 70k for a truck-  (more then I paid for my house)  and gets away with this.

Not only do "We the people..." own a good deal of GM stock, thanks to Obama's illegal takeover of course, but GM's stock is now worth almost $10 a share less than when Obama used OUR tax-dollars to purchase it and GM is currently considering selling a bunch of its stock at a loss in order to make ends meet in the short term. Atta boy Obama...buy high, sell low...wealth redistribution at its finest.

"Now for my point...how does the wage of the GM worker in India compare to the average income in India. That is the point I have been trying to make from the first but you kept comparing to an American worker. "

I think you fail to see the point. These negative examples remind me of my Grandmother - "Be happy with what you have". Needless to say she didn't get much out of life. Love it or leave it, fuck you I was born here and I don't like it here. I will not leave. And I will not be run over like the sheeple.

These countries where they open plants have been so dessimated by the PTB that they would sell their dick for a big mac. They have nothing. They are overpopulated and broke. How many of them you think have to make payments on a seven foot HDTV, a 6,800 sq. ft. ranch style bungalow on five acres and a 32' boat ?

Our ancestors built this fucking lifestyle, they toiled until they died. They did this for us. Now the big money wants to take all our houses and make us live in shacks. They want to take our gold and give us paper. They want to take our steel and give us plastic. They want to take our farms and make us sharecroppers - AGAIN.

Many people ain't going to be able to handle slavery like my ancestors did, T. Many will not be able to handle it.
It's the same fucking people over and over. History repeats itself as soon as people forget. I WILL NEVER FORGET. I wasn't born in the best of times but it beat the hell out of now, and I want it back.

We talk about this a lot at work, I remember in the 80s and 90s, you had so many jobs to pick from in this area, you could quit one job and have 2 new jobs the next week.

Go shopping and create jobs - in other countries.

Get the fucking idea, I DO NOT WANT THIS JUNK. WE CAN stop them from making all this money off of us. WE can buy ten year old cars. WE can forgo the new plasma. WE can forget about a few things. WE can destroy their power by not giving them our money. WE CAN.

But we won't. We must keep up with the Joneses. We must have the bestest video game. We must have everything. We must have a new car every couple of years.

Not me. You, that's right YOU are the ones who let this go on. I know a Woman who after the 9/11 attacks went shopping "to keep this economy going". Can you believe this ? I have a hard time with it because otherwise she is decent, has a job and all that. Runs her life pretty well. She's just not the sharpest bowling ball on the alley. How did this happen ? This is one of those things that is clearly not my fault.

Whose fault is it ? Could it be the peole who constantly steal our wealth, our sweat, our very lives ?

Naw, they wouldn't do that now would they ?
T^T

YES, YES, YES a thousand times YES!
Thank you for writing one of the best post's, I have read on here in a long time.

Peace!

Except not one word of that is true.

seriously .... WHO CARES!!! WE have OUR OWN starving in the USA. As American companies ship jobs to where its cheaper, and they are willing to do the work for low rates....THEY DESERVE IT!!!! They should NEVER expect to make what an American makes...... because they arent American. WE as Americans have to stop buying into the companies that have out of the country precense(sp) and MAKE them support our own FIRST... The liberats are ruining the USA. WE collectively need to stand up to the foreign monster and say guess what, were NOT taking it anymore, were rounding up your people, and shipping them ALL back home.... You can support them or let them die, but YOU have to deal with the problems....We have to close our borders for at least 5 years, and essentually start over and get control back... Life Liberty and the Persuit of Happiness.....yeah RIIIIIIGHT....

Give me strength. Do you not realise GM produce and sell cars on a global scale ?  This includes often setting up partnerships with countries like India and China, giving GM access to markets they wouldnt otherwise have. As for blaming the liberats, do some research. For instance the production of cars in Shanghai was set up under Bush.

The attatched link shows GM stock under $10/share on 5-31-2009 the day before Obama (I think stupidly) bailed them out.

Today's closing price was about $31/share. (30.95 as of 5 mins ago)

I'm right of center. I just think that spouting ovbious wingnut bullshit is playing right into the far left's strength and sending more people over to their side.

The day of the 'super power' is gone.

Let's get used to that.

By that I don't mean the US, the current super power, what I mean is the whole notion of 'super power.'

I think you are right in one sense. The last 20 years have seen a shift from military super powers but towards financial super powers.

Good comment Polite.

Good question Hill Will.

I don't even know why I said it, it just suddenly sprang to mind.

Maybe I'm subconsciously desperate to find something good out of all this?

It used to be the notion of  'empire,' but somewhere in there it became the notion of 'super power.'

Am I just being a media tool for even falling for the latter term?

Expanding trade without killing people seems better on the surface. The only downside is poorer nations cant compete with the subsidies that more industrialised nations dish out. Indeed, they cant compete with lopsided trade agreements. Any efforts to equalise the playing field have always been blocked by the larger trading partners.

Edwynn, I got your point on Superpower and Empires and agree, same thing by a different name in my book. More so since WW2.
