The best one by far is the one where they barely get through the opposing traffic unscathed but then hit a lamppost on the other side of the road. That or the truck one.

The truth is that these cameras are so effective that municipalities are often forced to shut them off because the contracts to operate them eventually become more costly than the fines they bring in. They pay for themselves up front and then people quit running the lights - making the intersection safer - and then the city goes in the red on them. This has happened time and again.

It was scary watching the sheer number of people who raced through red lights. The one that just got through before the school bus made me wish a cop was there.

Tickets are issued when the yellow is too fast- a blocked car too slow in the intersection can cause another car to get a ticket. They issue them too - for right turn lights- where supposedly everyone here comes to a complete stop for 10 seconds and THEN looks both ways before proceeding. Not to worry tho-- license plate recognition software is en force - to check for tags, insurance and so forth. Every road in the future is going to be a toll road and time peak- off peak billing. This film is a lie. Very few people blow red lights. The tickets given are those on the line....a split second. Happily our police chief here does not want them.

I see it all the time around here when driving late at night, which is why I wait at least 5 seconds after the light changes to cross an intersection unless I can see that no one is coming. Trying to 'beat' traffic lights is a favorite sport for some California drivers, along with other stupid things likely to cause an accident. Just this evening, some asshole damned near killed me in a head on collision by trying to blow the doors off a semi using the turn lane on a 2 lane road to pass. [8\|]

they work. People alter their driving habits when they know there is a ticket waiting for them if they run a red light. They work. I googled it, plus I can talk from experience. anyone disagree? Prove it.
