Vengeance.

Justice is that thing with courts and juries.

The metaphor can't be carried that far, because people aren't animals. Animals don't have religious extremism. Islam is an extreme religion, based on violence and hatred. Those who practice it are basing their lives on a religion of violence and hate. Therefore, yes, the only definitive solution is to completely end the practice of that religion by eliminating its followers.

I'm not saying I necessarily want it to happen. I do believe that it would solve a whole lot of problems, but I can't bring myself to care enough to say that I really want it to happen. I'm just sick of hearing about it on the news, I suppose.

Since christianity is an extreem religion based on violence and hatred it would follow that one might expect the same results by exterminating all the christians...is that what you are suggesting?...peace through superior firepower.

huh?

Didn't you hear that Obama paid Dick Cheney a billion dollars for the corpse which Cheney had been keeping in his chest freezer in the garage since Tora Bora, just so that Obama could preempt Trump's show?

Well i hope Obama got his scalp before they dumped the corpse into the ocean.

The chronology of the capture is very interesting:

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/02/world/asia/02reconstruct-capture-osama-bin-laden.html?hp

As is the pro-Obama slant (not that I'm disagreeing with it):

"...On March 14, Mr. Obama held the first of what would be five national security meetings in the course of the next six weeks to go over plans for the operation.

The meetings, attended by only the president’s closest national security aides, took place as other White House officials scrambled to avert a possible government shutdown over the budget.

Four more similar meetings to discuss the plan would follow, until President Obama gathered his aides one final time last Friday.

At 8:20 that morning, Mr. Obama met with Thomas Donilon, the national security adviser; John O. Brennan, the counterterrorism adviser; and other senior aides in the Diplomatic Room at the White House. The president was traveling to Alabama later that morning to witness the damage from last week’s tornadoes. But first he had to sign off on the final plan to send intelligence operatives into the compound where the administration believed that Bin Laden was hiding."

You remember that little war Israel had with lebanon a while back? That was over a couple of dead soldiers bodies. Some care very much what happens to their dead and won't hesitate to kill you over it.

I'm not advocating that we defile his body in some way but fuck "those" people. They're also the same ones who have shown no quarter to our dead soldiers after killing them and the same ones who would take innocents for ransom/torture. I remember vividly how they've treated the bodies so if they want to get upset, let them. That piece of shit has murdered thousands, He and others like him, are damn lucky most of America has better morals and at least a bit more respect for the dead.

From the Conspiracy Theories link:

Eighty percent of Americans, he said, believe that President Kennedy was killed by a conspiracy, rather than a lone gunman, as a government commission affirmed.

Yikes!

We were wondering what the "birther nutbags" would do after the birth certificate was released. Now we know.

WTF do you expect from someone who looks like Klaatu?

Obama, Obama, Obama!!!!!!!!!!!

DeviantlyD -> RE: Bin Laden..........DEAD (5/2/2011 5:01:41 AM)

More from the conspiracy article in The New York Times:

“I look at this birther conspiracy as a typical example,” he said. “This is far beyond the issue of whether this is a legitimate president. The real issue for them is this belief that this is a ploy by this hidden group to get power, to move Americans toward socialism or globalism or multiculturalism using Barack Obama as a pawn.”

Geez louise. If there was some hidden group, (a group to have some fear of, mind you, and not some intellectually challenged group that couldn't find their way out of a paper bag), don't you think they might recruit someone whose background could never be in question? I had a good guffaw originally when some people thought Obama was born before Hawai`i became a state. I'm quite amazed that Obama doesn't exhibit more irritation over this matter than what he has. Seriously? People get their panties in a twist over some of the most ridiculous things. If he weren't born in the USA, I would think it would have come out before he even entered the race to become the Democratic candidate for president. I can't tell you how bored I am with it all and if it were up to me, I'd just spank everyone who didn't believe, send them to their corner without cookies and milk. Oy. (If GT is reading this, see? I spelled it correctly. :D )

DarkSteven -> RE: Bin Laden..........DEAD (5/2/2011 5:04:16 AM)

Thanks for the NYT link.  Some of the interesting things from the link:

1. There is absolutely no question that the Pakistani government did not cooperate.  A mansion, 35 miles from the capital... meanwhile, the Pakistanis' official position was that OBL was not in the country.  OBL must have been paying off the government folks.

Bush cultivated Pakistan as an ally in the war against terror.  Obama never had a warm relationship with Pakistan.  His decision to send an attack force within striking distance of Pakistan's capital, at a time when Pakistan was officially complaining about US air strikes, likely marks the end of our cordial relationship with Pakistan.  India is likely breathing freer now.

2. Obama's style.  Patient, maddeningly so at times.  While it sometimes makes for less effectiveness politically, here it was a huge asset.  The guy took eight months to make sure that OBL was there and plan before sending out the copters.  Bush would not have been so patient...  Obama knew full well the effect OBL's death or capture would have on his ratings, and the effect that a blunder would have had as well.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Bin Laden..........DEAD (5/2/2011 5:08:36 AM)

I agree. And how a blunder would have effected the fragile psyche that the nation has at this time. I am sure wall street will go nuts today on the positive side. If it had not worked...the reverse would have been true. As well, as a President, he'd have been done.

Wow. Whose words?

Corwin of Amber said them in the novel "The Courts of Chaos", which was written by Roger Zelazny.
