I used to watch Battlestar Gallactica back in High School! Or are you talking about the new one with James Olmos - I've seen commercials for it but not the show ... I'll have to see if I can get it here. Thanks!

I watched the original one when I was a kid too, I had a crush on Dirk Benedict...But I am actually talking about the newer version, it is some great TV.

I love Breaking Bad, this show and Dexter are the two best series currently on the boob tube

NocturnalStalker -> RE: Have you ever become a fan of a show years after it was cancelled? (5/2/2011 9:13:04 AM)

Remember Jericho?  That was a pretty good show.

juliaoceania -> RE: Have you ever become a fan of a show years after it was cancelled? (5/2/2011 9:14:46 AM)

I never watched that one, I will have to read up on it....

NocturnalStalker -> RE: Have you ever become a fan of a show years after it was cancelled? (5/2/2011 9:17:30 AM)

That is probably because they kept fucking up its time-slot which lead to cancellation.

Sometimes I cringe at how dark Dexter is.   Much of the plot is good.  I sure did shudder when they pound the knife into people.

The main character has some kind of ailment in real life.   Some disease...which surprises me as he looks so healthy.

Michael C. Hall, Globes winner for 'Dexter,' doing 'fine' in his ...Jan 18, 2010 ... Scoring a Golden Globe Sunday night, Michael C. Hall was in high enough spirits to joke about his recent cancer treatment.

He has been in remission for over a year, so I am not surprised he still looks healthy. He is very talented.

Yes, Dexter is dark, but so is a lot of other art I admire. I consider Dexter to be like art, to be honest. In many ways it isn't as gruesome as those true crime shows that people watch. I can't watch the real stuff because it disturbs me.

^  Lucy,  it is real hard for me to get interested in a new show.

I would like to find new ones tho.     One good thing about memory loss- I can see things for the first time, again and again..... HA... (bad joke!)

juliaoceania -> RE: Have you ever become a fan of a show years after it was cancelled? (5/2/2011 9:37:56 AM)

You sound like me....

I hate to admit it, but since I have become single I have so much more time for things I like to do...lol... it really isn't all that bad to be single after all.

I like Downton Abbey, too...

He seems like a well balanced and likable guy.   His cancer rattled me because I am close to his same age...   Did you know that Deb is his sister in real life?

....on those reality crime shows I often feel like I did not get the whole story.  Graphics and sound effects-  and key words... all the world is a stage.    At least with shows like Dexter - like you say it is more of art....  point taken.

Hunky go to IMDB or TV rage look up genres that you are interested in, then go for shows, or just a search on hulu
I cant get hulu here in the great white north so I have other methods
I am a hoarder of all things computerish  and have way to much stuff to watch,
Micheal Hall is bloody awersome, I watched Six Feet Under first and then Dexter, the guy is one hell of an actor

pahunkboy -> RE: Have you ever become a fan of a show years after it was cancelled? (5/2/2011 9:44:09 AM)

Oops.  I think I have that wrong. Deb is his sister on the show but they were a couple in real life....    Sorry- my mistake.

For the trial period- my neighbor has all the movie channels. I been DVRing- things for when this expires.  I do find myself sticking with...  embarrassed to say....  Threes company-- and some episodes of Little House.     It is her tv-  and she prefers I dont watch racy things on it.  (I get that- her house, no problem)

It is funny because movies I thought were innocent I will be watching and words like blow job will come out.    Makes me want to crawl under the couch.  It looks like a purposely want that stuff.    She is a lovely lady and is how she is.  I want to respect her , and her space.

I enjoy the show Weeds...  that I can catch online...
