Lets face the facts,Obama was able to do what the last 2 presidents couldn't do.Get Osama.Everyone tried to get Osama but he just kept getting away like the snake that he was.Osama Bin Laden has been wanted by the U.S.A long before the 9/11 attacks.The 9/11 attackes were just his most horrible incident.Clinton and Bush have both tried to get Osama and both met with failure.

Obama didn't catch Osama.However,Osama was caught under Obamas watch.President Barack Obama helped in a indirect way of finally taking out Osama Bin Laden.President Barack Obama deserves this moment.

Too bad it isn't really that simple.


Maybe the cost of gas will come down now.    Which effects me more....  it isn't like 9-11 could happen again, is it?   I mean they did a fancy report so that it never happens again.  I do not have a high opinion of that report.... but it is the record and people have signed off on it.

They wont just pull out, anyone who thinks thats wise, or doable has no clue
Yes, troops should be home and safe, no disagreeing , but itsnot feasible for an enormous number of reasons
This will take time
But damn its a good start

As an Obama Supporter and I am that, to say that he did this is a misnomer. The timing and situation were right and he got to make the order. The CIA and their sources and then the Seal Team that went itn did this! Yes, happened on Obama's watch, but W would have given the order if the chance had existed as would Clinton although he had the chance it was pre 9/11. as would have Bush 1 or Reagan. Obama is a good man, and Ihave faith in his abilities but, it was a bit of luck, planning and skill of those we have in positions to do such things, that made this happen. Thank God for those talented folks out there like the Seals, Rangers, Mountain Brigade etc. along with our intelligence agencies!

I read that Al Qaeda has trained between 10,000 to 20,000 terrorists and that 3,000 have been caught. That leaves a whole lot still out there and I would expect some of them are still dangerous even with OBL gone. Not to mention that it has taken 10 years to get him so for him to hide and travel for such a long time, there are sympathetic people in those countries that helped OBL and will, imo, help any successors that try to fill his shoes.

Once you start a war, its pretty hard to just up and leave. Do that too soon and all the work you did and the lives sacrificed will have been in vain if the country reverts back to the way it was.

As the reports unfold, Obama had several choices which he rejected including an air strike against the advice of some of his security team. Clinton opted to lob missles. I think Reagan might have also. Bush hired some mercenaries at Tora Bora. I think in this case he might have looked around for a nonparticipating small country to attack after listing it as part of the axis of evil.

Obama had all these choices. He chose the Jimmy Carter heliocopter option. We all know how that turned out. Let's face it, Obama has balls. Big Ones. Even though there are some who would have you believe his balls were not born in this country. Look over the field of GOP wannabe Presidential candidates. No one with Balls that big.

I would love to see him pull the troops out of Afghanistan but i am skeptical. At least he pulled Petreus. That was a good start. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Nah.  They need to all show their long-form birth certificates.

I do remember, however, that towards the end of Bush43's second term he said capturing Osama was no longer the top priority.

I think you have to give Obama a good deal of the credit just for making the decision.

This could have just as easily backfired.

I hate to pour water on a good day, but this whole thing could backfire on us in the form of another massive terrorist attack or series of small attacks.
