A simple hypothetical explaining one possibility as to why the United States would "ally" as you say with a 1980s Saddam Hussein type Imagine a fundamentalist Islamic regime such as Iran controlling the population and the oil money of the entire Middle East Now imagine Saddam Hussein fighting against that, and losing.

You are saying that we should support any dictator or tyrant that helps us to a political advantage while trying to say that Obama's actions are just politically motivated. If nothing else at least try to be consistent.
