knees2you -> End of Days. (5/10/2006 11:17:47 PM)

People on here have been talking about
Religions, cults, and other vises.

Reading into Revelations in the Bible,
I am starting to see what is being called
the Last days!

The War on terrorism is never ending!
Gas prices are not stoping and seems to
be never ending also.
More Diseases, more Fammin,
Earthquakes, Hurricans etc.
Just plain more suffering
then the World is use to.

I've watched the Left behind series and
with everything happining at this point,
I strongly feel and believe
that Someone has to rise out of the
Darkness {shadows} and bring the
world together.

In the Left Behind series,
He is called the Anti Christ!

Can't have one without the other.

Yes we've had Wars, Disasters
and Fammin before,
but not so closely together as we
are seeing today.

Sometimes we have a Higher calling.
I've seen that calling and know
without it I can't and would not
survive in this world.

I've always thought
if not God and Jesus then who? I've tried alot of other things out there
and realized the one true meaning I had been missing.

I Know what God offers, Which is eternal peace.
To me the alternative is Un thinkable.

I Wish everybody well in their
endevours, and Pray that you will all
be safe.

Always, Ant[;)]

People have been believing that the "End of Days" is just around the corner for nearly 2,000 years.

It's a myth.

Harry, read revelations.
Just a thought!

Yeah, I always trust the ramblings of starving men on the isle of Patmos!

More people = more suffering, more disease, and more famine.

Pray refresh my memory as to where the rising price of gasoline is mentioned in Revelations. I seem to have missed that part.

knees2you -> RE: End of Days. (5/10/2006 11:43:01 PM)

Not turning anyone away from their
belifes,
Just saying what has been
in front of us all along.

Of course, we dispute what we
can't see...
But it's What We Feel that counts.

And of course some of us imagine what isn't there.

I think it's just we are more aware when bad things happen now,  24 hour news on 8 channels plus your big three. It'd be suprising if anything bad didn't get aired eventualy.

Hmmm, and there have never been wars in the middle east, right? Come to think of it, I don't believe that the middle east has ever been at peace since the dawn of recorded history. If you want to scare me with prophecy, predict an end of war there, and watch how spooked I become when it happens. Until then, the plagerized fairy tales of  semi literate goat herders will fail to worry me.

I'm not the one that puts faith in a Hebrew rendition of Sumerian, Assyrian, Babylonian, Canaanite, and Egyptian mythology, bucko.

Rule -> RE: End of Days. (5/11/2006 12:13:20 AM)

Something ugly certainly is going on and has been increasing in power during the last couple of centuries. Evil is afoot and setting people up against each other, slyly increasing its control. The religious interpretation certainly is applicable, and in Christianity is named Satan. However, one does not require religion to recognize the machinations of evil.

One way to oppose this evil is not to be seduced into going to war or into hurting another human being.

I've read Revelations.  I had Revelations shoved down my throat for a dozen years as a schoolboy.  I've also read the entire rest of the New Testament, the Old Testament, the Koran, The Book of Mormon, The Bagavad Gita (sp) and a whole bunch of other so called "Scripture."

It's all a load of wank.

I'm not frustrated.  I just don't buy into your mythology.

LaMalinche -> RE: End of Days. (5/11/2006 1:06:00 AM)

Wasn't there some of those psychotropic mushrooms on the Isle of Patmos.  Just a thought about where all of those odd visions came from.

Best,

LaMalinche

I believe you're right.  He certainly had some vivid hallucinations.

If miracles cure them, why are they seeking medical care in a hospital? Plow, or pray for rain. See which one keeps the crops going. Wish a tumor away, or operate. See which one produces consistant results.

I believe in too many things to list. I simply do not believe in the paranormal or supernatural.

Oh yeah and Satan doesn't exist either?

Would that be the pre or post Persian concept of Satan? You do know the difference, right, chaplan?

slavejali -> RE: End of Days. (5/11/2006 2:00:33 AM)

Not to get into religious debate...

I reckon everything that has physical manifestation has a beginning and an ending,  a life cycle, and that would include our planet. I think we could get all caught up worrying if the world was going to end just like we could sit and worry if we were going to die tomorrow or how long we are going to live...but that wouldnt be a very productive way to live hey. I think though, that thinking about our mortality can have some benefit, if we put it into perspective and just realise that no matter what, we are only here for a short time,  how do we make the most of it? What kind of life do we want to live? How do we want to effect the people around us? How can we be most constructive? How can we be part of the solution to all the problems people see in the world on a day to day basis...even if that just comes down to having a healthier attitude towards life and people and our community.
