If you're running on empty, you'd be wise to pump up before the clock strikes midnight because according to gas price watchdog Dan McTeague, prices could hit their highest levels ever overnight --- with a projected jump of 6.5 cents.

That would spike a litre of regular to a pocket-draining 139.6 cents.

The previous high came in 2008, when it jumped to 138.6 after oil traded near $150 a barrel.

On Monday, the price of crude oil rose more than $5, hitting $102.55 US a barrel. For drivers that meant the price reprieve that came last week when crude dropped almost $17 a barrel would be short-lived.

no honey, its not his fault because he isnt in charge of Canadas oil prices or the UKs gas prices anymore than he is the US gas price.
just in case you forget that Im in Canada and using a Canadian news source for pricing on tonites gas increase

That's what, Lucy? A 25-27 cent a gallon jump, overnight? (I can never remember the litre/gallon conversion beyond 4x-ish).

We don't impeach over gas prices, but unhappy people who voted for change, then find themselves looking for change under the car seat to get enough gas to get home, or being perpetually surrounded by people begging for change when you pull up at the pump, aren't going to tend to vote for more of the same.

Obama is going to appoint a 'blue ribbon' panel to investigate the high price of gas. That should solve the problem shortly.

24 ish cents overnight, and thats just plain unleaded , get anything better and you are looking at forty cents overnight.
I was kidding about the impeachment part.
Considering we just had the election to bring Harper back there are already people saying its his fault. much as I dislike the smarmy scum sucker, I dont need to blame him.

Seriously though, youve never heard of the EPA? The Department of Energy, etc?

These powerful governmental agencies are directly controlled by the president... and they are currently ACTIVELY cutting our access to fossil fuels
