Immigration reform is a only a mess because what's reasonable is too simple -- deport illegal immigrants and arrest employers who hire them.

We are all for that.

When St. Wrinklemeat extended amnesty to 3 million illegals we told you it wasn't going to work, but you were for it before you were against it.

Do you read?

Not much by way of my opinion here.

It's one poll. But's it's still more than you're offering.

No.

Enough of your Obot opinion here.

I'll offer a different poll if Obama will offer his real, hospital produced on a typewriter rather than White House produced on a computer, birth certificate. How's that?

As if his race baiting  "alligator infested moats" rhetoric  has any tie to facts... ?

He is not stirring shit up, nity.  He is talking factually, explaining the situation.  He is pushing immigration reform, doubled the border guards, built on the border fence, agressively pursued criminal illegal aliens, and what the fuck have the country destroying neo-cons done?   Bitched about how the removal of this slave labor has hurt big business.  Anything else?

mnottertail -> RE: Immigration Reform - "Really Really this time' (5/11/2011 8:27:08 AM)

As if you ever do? The fact is that the neo-cons come up with any sort of blockade they can, moving the goalposts to insure no reform is done on anything.

Sanity -> RE: Immigration Reform - "Really Really this time' (5/11/2011 8:32:26 AM)

So its the Republicans' fault that Obama cant keep a campaign promise... [:D]

The Dems had two years of unfettered control! They had the House, the Senate, and the Presidency and they never brought it up as promised!

again, the bill was passed and was put on hold by a single republican anonymously.  Just like the whistle blower protection act, just like....

Again, from my OP

quote:

Obama Courts Latino Voters With Immigration Speech

As a candidate, President Obama promised Latino voters that he would aggressively push for passage of a comprehensive immigration bill during his first year in office. “What I can guarantee is that we will have in the first year an immigration bill that I strongly support and that I’m promoting,” Mr. Obama said in an interview with the Spanish-language broadcaster Univision in 2008.

Now, facing a re-election campaign next year, the White House is embarking on a public relations effort to reassure Latino supporters who say they are frustrated by the president’s failure to deliver on his immigration promise.

Again, he pushed it agressively.  He is gonna push again, aggressively.  Why don't you take a class in reading comprehension?  What is it you don't understand?  Seems like fuckin' 3rd grade english.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Immigration Reform - "Really Really this time' (5/11/2011 8:38:54 AM)

Some Hispanic nationalities will vote Dem no matter what and some will vote Republican no matter what.  They're just like anyone else.  People have to stop looking at "Hispanic" as some kind of monolithic group.  They aren't.

Obama mocks Republican position on immigration
BY DARLENE SUPERVILLE AND ERICA WERNER, ASSOCIATED PRESS

President Barack Obama says his administration has answered the concerns of Republican lawmakers who want the U.S.-Mexico border better secured before they are willing to take on comprehensive immigration reform.

Standing at the border Tuesday, Obama mocked Republicans for never being satisfied and always changing the conditions about what's needed to secure the border. Said the president: "Maybe they'll say we need a moat. Or alligators in the moat."

Obama says that stepped-up enforcement is getting results.

Obama mocked blah, blah, blah.

The only thing Obama has proven himself proficient at is mocking. A historical election indeed!

mnottertail -> RE: Immigration Reform - "Really Really this time' (5/11/2011 8:45:26 AM)

The neo-cons have proven themselves anything but proficient in anything. So, he's got that to work with.

Obama agressively pandered to the Hispanics/Latinos/illegals in 2008. He's pandering to them again, agressively. Why don't you take a class in polictical pandering? What is it you don't understand? Seems like fuckin' Obot blindness.

Panderer?

You neo-cons pander to the large multi-national corporations, at least he is pandering to a constituency of people.  If we have to see it your way.

Im not too sure you would recognize what a "real" birth certificate looks like. I AM sure you would never admit its real.

Some of the more ignorant birthers (I know, it's a redundant term) wouldn't accept if you were to produce the preserved umbilical cord with "made in Hawaii" stamped on it.

Hill, that's true.
What about the "Irish" or "Italian" or "Polish" vote?
Oblunder seems to care more about what (8%?) of the population thinks? You don't win elections by courting small groups and ignoring the majority!
We have a bunch of people in this complex from Ohio, Mich, Wisconsin, N.Y., N.J., Penn, and the New England states many of them Democrats and they're not in favor of this nonsense. Who is he doing this for? Not the American people certainly!
And a LOT of those people here are pissed that Oblunder is sueing Arizona! Does he think that people are somehow going to "forget" that?
One of my neighbors who I talk to everyday is retired from GM, worked in a transmission factory for thirty two years and said, "I'll never vote for that bastard again!" "He cares more about illegals than the American People!"
Whatever happened to, "focusing on the economy like a lazer?"
If you're going to try to shove something down the throats of the American People that they don't want you're going to lose.
Why isn't Oblunder getting us out of all those disasterous "free-trade" deals? Now that's a vote getter!

mnottertail -> RE: Immigration Reform - "Really Really this time' (5/11/2011 9:47:25 AM)

other than everything else being sort of wrong in perspective, the number is closer to twice that in terms of the hispanic US population.

But not all of them can vote.
There's about 40-45 million people in the U.S. of "Irish" descent. Do you think it would be a good thing for anyone running for office to cater to them and exclude everyone else? Or 30 million "Italians" or 30 million "Polish?"

mnottertail -> RE: Immigration Reform - "Really Really this time' (5/11/2011 10:02:35 AM)

Nope, and I don't see Obama catering to the hispanics and excluding everyone else, so that may be where your eliding non sequiturs got you fucked up.

Ron, any type of "amnesty" isn't going to pass.
With something like this there's no "net gain," you're going to alienate people.
Why doesn't Oblunder do his job and close that Mexican border and enforce our immigration laws?
He'd win by a landslide!
You don't win elections by pissing people off!

P.S. We need the bald guy in Washington screaming; "IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID!"
