He has doubled the guards, built the fence, and increased the deportation of criminal illegals by over 70% from the Bush years.

Why don't you get yourself a sack, you and your band of brothers, dump the increase in the defense budget, fund the initiative to clean it up, and quit worrying about freedoms in the rest of the globe, and yell at your republican house to increase the fine and the enforcement against businesses that employ illegal aliens, send the troops into texas to shoot the republicans there that are resisting bills like that, and you guys can call that building infrastructure and we will say thats pretty slick, what a bunch of guys,  instead of calling you do nothing whiners looking to blame the problems you created on others.

He is pissing off both sides. He goes to the border and mocks those who favor reasonable, sane border policy while making empty promises to the open borders crowd that everyone knows he wont keep

Because this is the second time hes made those same hollow promises

Ron, any type of "amnesty" isn't going to pass.
With something like this there's no "net gain," you're going to alienate people.
Why doesn't Oblunder do his job and close that Mexican border and enforce our immigration laws?
He'd win by a landslide!
You don't win elections by pissing people off!

P.S. We need the bald guy in Washington screaming; "IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID!"

Youre ignoring news article that was the premise of the OP then, as well as Brians post... and writing of things you lack knowledge of

Nope, and I don't see Obama catering to the hispanics and excluding everyone else, so that may be where your eliding non sequiturs got you fucked up.

Meh.  I still think the debaucle caused by the republican tea baggers in wisconsin is more on peoples shitlist than anything.  So far he still looks absolutely unbeatable in 12, regardless of what limbaugh or faux nuze is wheezing in their final gasp.

You should know by now Ron, facts and truth, have little to do with their reality

Nah, the issue at hand is I have knowledge, you have a unsupported OP spitballing and there is no evidence of your slanted opinion carrying any water with anything more than an insignificant portion of neo-cons or teabaggers.

Nothing in the polls, nothing in the media, nothing on the ground that supports the rhetorical asswipe.

Sorta like you are saying that the corporations are the lifeblood of america and that we need to shovel money thru entitlements at them so we can get jobs, but they are too busy getting their unemployment checks to bother with your illogic.

Couple things then, a reductio ad absurdum is textbook argumentation. And flawed or outright asswipe premises can only derive flawed or outright asswipe conclusion.

16%, according to the 2010 census, making it the largest U.S. ethnic group, and growing.

Both sides court this vote aggressively.

Obviously for good reason.

Obama makes a mistake, he does not understand the complexity of the problem and he will succumb into debate he can not control. It is very risky, and it can potentially hurt him badly because he must eventually choose the side. It is uncertain what the net gain headcount of useful idiot voters will be (could be negative).
I notice ideological confusion surrounding immigration is one of the problems in the USA. Some see it as purely economic issue. The last is considered "politically correct" position. Some try to introduce security aspect (also politically correct). Massive and fast immigration does not support integration mechanisms. I would like to know how much the destruction of culture and partial introduction of foreign culture matters? My guess is on subconscious level it could be very important.

mnottertail -> RE: Immigration Reform - "Really Really this time' (5/11/2011 2:13:10 PM)

Good guess. In terms of the Mexican American war that gave us large spanish speaking mestizo population as well as texas california new mexico and so on, in the 1840s, and their statehood since, and continuous presence in the US, I sort of agree that it is too early to take a wait and see attitude on this.

Fear mongering at its finest.
