ORIGINAL: luckydawg quote:
ORIGINAL: mnottertail Flooding the folks who were prudent, in favor of the cities built below water level? Jibberish sentance fragment , that isn't a question. Isn't this socialism? Nope, apperantly you also have no idea what the defintion of socialism is. Isn't this pandering to a subsection of voters and excluding all others? Nope, it is responding to the needs of the greater society (vast majority), and does not exclude all others, even the rural folks get benefitds from the functioning cities and tax base there. Isn't this a bailout, saving the homes of the people who couldn't really afford to build or buy there and putting it on the backs of those who did not overreach? Nope. It is saving the tax base which will help everyone in the region. Isn't this government interference in an indivduals level at a very intimate level? Nope, it is macro policy, not intimate. Isn't this like universal healthcare? What right or privilege do these people have? Not universal at all. why would you think that that it is? Doesn't this add salinity to the land making it unusable or less productive for a long long time? Nope, while it might add a slight salinity, these lands have been flooded hundreds of times, and not made un productive. --------------------- Unintended consequences. You framed the debate in terms of this. Defend your socialist, hypocritical, government interfering in individual rights party. Defend what? Everything you said was nonsense. Puppydawg, are you ever going to manage to figure out how to use the quote feature?
