Oh heck, yeah......after all, I've lived with this body for 50 years, and know what's normal and what's not. I know the difference between a sinus infection and strep and tonsillitis. I knew what's normal for my period and what's not. I knew I had thyroid problems long before the docs would finally believe me. And this was all before the interwebz. And Lucy, I self-diagnosed my appendicitis in 2008....didn't cheat, but I was right! (BTW...how do you cheat on that? It was rather obvious to me!) The not being able to walk upright was the final clue. Mine was sort of slow, it took almost 3 days for it to get bad enough for me to call the cab to go to the hospital. Otherwise the only other symptom I had was a dull ache in my right side. None of the common symptoms for me.....but I'm "spesuhl" like that! And Phoenix, if they'd known what ADHD and ADD was 40 years ago, I'd have been diagnosed. My son has it, and he's alot like me in so many ways it's scary! For the record, according to the nurse I talked to, to confirm appendicitis, just jump up and down....apparently, that's the sure sign.
