Central and South Americans have traditionally relied on corn as their staple for a very long time. I used Mexico as one example of this

I hardly have time to break everything down to the level that everyone can understand it, for this I apologize.

They have been working on using  NON-EDIBLE rice in Japan,  Here they have been working on using the rice waste.

No one is diverting "significant portions" of the worlds rice harvest to ethanol.

How about just a level of truth we can all understand.  I know the truth is difficult for you.

How about breaking down where that "significant portion" of the world rice is being diverted to ethanol is coming from.

Just because you repeat something you made up doesn't make it any closer to the truth.

For a couple who never contributes anything meaningful to the discussion you two are awfully critical of those who do contribute.

Were you ever to contribute yourselves you might confuse a fact once in a while... its like getting out of bed and doing things. When you do that sometimes you make mistakes.

Try it and see for yourselves some time.

MM was correct, there isnt a lot of rice that goes into ethanol production as the sugar content isnt as high as it is in cane and corn, which makes them more desirable.

However the crops that do go into ethanol production are contributing to global hunger in a very big way, and its a very safe bet that those here who deny that significance do so for blindly partisan political purposes.

If that's the way you feel about it then I suggest you write to those responsible for corn ethanol subsidies and those who benefit directly from it. The list is in a prior post in this thread.

BTW, cane is in fact 5-6 times more efficient than corn for ethanol production, but then Exon and Chevron et al. don't make 45 cents a gallon form Brazilian cane ethanol, do they? No, in fact there is a 54 cent tarrif on it, to keep profits where they belong, and my and everybody else's tax dollars supporting your favorite cause, the wealthiest corporations and individuals.

Are you sure that starving third world people is worth it, in service to your untiring advocacy of stealing as much as possible from them and US citizens alike to send by the supertankerful to the already most profitable corporations?

You constantly just make up whatever you feel like and then want to bitch when it is pointed out. 

Try not not confuse making a mistake,  and just pulling crap out of your backside (which is what you did).  It's a common theme with you.  Throw out crap and hope nobody points out the fact that it is crap. It was not a mistake.  It was an untrue assertion which is one of your favorite things to throw out and hope nobody calls you on it.
