So, I'm having trouble with motivating myself lately. I'm just so exhausted all the time. I was wondering what you all do to motivate yourself to workout or eat differently?

*sigh* Weight has never been a huge issue for me, before this last year. My doc put me on a med that added a couple pounds. When i went off the meds, i tried to shed the weight, but there just hasn't been any lasting progress.

However, via webcam, Chaos seems very pleased with what He's seen. my current avatar is a picture from our last web-cam chat together three days ago. So, i'm not feeling too bad emotionally. Plus, Chaos promises there will be a lot of "working out" when He gets back. [:)]

i still want to get back to 124 lbs, it's my 'happy weight' where i feel comfortable.

As for motivation, loud music. Even if it ain't helping me to lose the weight, it makes me happy and mobile. i suggest "Baby Got Back" and "Fat Bottomed Girls", those songs make me very happy.

If you're that tired all the time you might not be getting enough rest. As far as motivation goes, I keep my eye on my goals. I keep doing research on how I can do it better and what might improve things. It helps keep you on the ball.

It's hard to maintain your focus when your body is tired. So fix that first.

I've been feeling the same way and relying heavily on caffeine. So, I cut down on the coffee started getting up 30 minutes earlier and even if I only have 15-20 minutes to spend on the treadmill I study or read for school while I'm walking. Today I spent 17 minutes I was able to get 1.5 miles in.. not what I wanted, but at least I was moving. I always feel better and awake after I get off.

I joined Weight Watcher's online today.  I'm so frustrated at the scale #'s not moving & I KNOW it's not from lack of working out so it must be my diet.  I figured that the point system will hold me accountable.

***Eta last night I did a Step/Sculpt class.  Loved it!***

If you're constantly feeling tired and putting on the pounds (or not losing them regardless of diet/exercise) I would suggest getting your thyroid levels checked. An underactive thryoid can cause these symptoms. Fixed with a tiny little pill.

I didn't think about that, thanks Soul!

Hi all,

The "name sake" so to speak of this thread has started it's season premier  - NBC for anyone interested, and this season is competition between the ages, they have 20s-30, i can't tell yet how old most of them are;  and 30-50  (through they look to be mostly in their 40s); and 50 and over i think the oldest is 65 (though it seems the majority are in their 60s) - with 5 contestants on each team. Of course Jillian is gone this season.

But the two new trainers are Anna Kournikova the tennis star - they are advocating her skills in being a champion, knowing about discipline and dedication etc  and she seems to be the complete opposite of Jillian lol   and Dolvett Quince, whom i haven't heard of but that's simply my ignorance as it seems he is known, he is a trainer to some of the stars.

Wow they have 2 people from TN this season.  So it will be interesting even though i am NOT happy with Jillian leaving :-(
Just thought i would advise for anyone interested in the show..

Oh wow, this season has an AWESOME twist (yeah already) towards the end near the finale, ALL 15 contestants come back to run a marathon and the winner of same, whether they have been eliminated or not previously, automatically becomes a finalist.  For those that don't know and want to know why this is different, usually towards the end, the remaining 4-5 people in the game run the marathon but they have never guaranteed the winner in the finale, nor brought back eliminated players as a chance to get a chance to be in the finale if they win the marathon.

I am not a runner, so this always amazes me, i mean why can't they say swim or bikeride, WHY does it have to be run a marathon lol.

Okay i will shut up now lol.

Day 1 of WW's for me. I seem to be keeping full much longer. Although I've had to eat more food. Most of my intake is fruits, veggies, and water. I didn't work out today way to busy keeping my head above water for school, but technically it's my day off anyways. I have been caffeine free for two days now! w00t!!

lol nope, i am not running in the Zombie Run.  Even if i wanted to i am slammed in pool exercise as we work on my knee.

I have a question for the masses,

Do you find yourself actually pushing yourself more, finding more motivation etc, when you are working to get past an injury.

The basis of this question comes from my messing up my knee.  Before i did so, working out and my forward motion of getting back in shape was haphazard and yes, half assed as my motivation stunk. But ever since i messed up my knee and now can't work out in a way i know works for me but am stuck in the pool -- i am pushing myself more and following my goals moving toward getting back into shape by years end.

The same thing happened when i was an athlete -- while i worked damn hard normally, when i was hurt -- which was pretty often given my knees and ankle/joint issues --- i always did more, pushed more even if what i was already doing even with my injuries was pretty much the same as i did without injury only different stuff.  But i worked out longer, i would push myself because my goal was no longer kicking ass in basketball but was getting healthy to kick ass in basketball.

Isn't it weird how psychologically because you are injured you automatically push harder even if what you are doing is the same intensity just different.

okay thinking done lol good grief lol.

They did blood work about a year ago and couldn't find anything wrong. I was having issues with my hands and face cramping and going numb while teaching, it seems to have subsided for the most part, but still have no clue what caused it.

Congratulations to Impy and Potty for joining WW, it can be a very good program. I did have the same problem of being hungry a lot while on it though.
