I've lost 29 pounds so far since late May. However today was a bad day. Failed to pack my lunch and then failed at reading labels and ate twice my calories then. Then failed at willpower and ate some junk as part of one of my minions birthday thing. <sigh> Tried to be healthy for my evening meal and its nooootttt to bad...one to many pitta's perhaps.

Had planned along run or walk down some back lanes and tracks I discovered recently.....but its hammering down with rain. I shall go pull the weights out and try to be good.

The Wench has lost nearer to 60 pounds and of course I dont LET her have off days (mine tend to come when she's out for the night)

I started the P90 (PX90 was just too hardcore for me right now, but I have the program for later) program on August 1st and even though it told me to go slow the first two weeks, I still managed to lose 8 lbs. Considering this is the first time I've actually gotten up off my rump and started moving around I'm pretty psyched. I don't really want to weigh myself every week because, I'll admit, I get discouraged easily. I'm just getting over the "omg, my body hurts so bad" phase and this past week I've been pushing myself hard. Feeling pretty good and motivated. The Co-workers have actually been commenting on how much more confident I appear. :)

Getting on the scales everyday is a bad idea (especially for girls) as there are natural fluctuations and so on....however if you DO feel the need to do so then use an average not the actual weight to look at your trend. If the trend is down hurrah.

Will do all the math and charts for you and is a pretty usefull set of tools.

Edited as morning zombies cant type very well

Nice bump.

Grats on the "Insanity" workout, awesome program. You got moxy!

"Insanity" workout is over the top for me right now. I wish I could but I am not that strong yet. Can't push the injury that hard. I was walking the dog and it jerked the leash at just exactly the wrong angle. Put my shoulder out and literally set me right back to where I was when I started. More than 6 months work lost. I went to the gym and it was just sad.

I took a break from the gym for 2 weeks. I healed up some more and right now I am where I was 4 months ago. I am going back to gym tomorrow. I will take it easy and hopefully some more healing will bring me up even more. Nonetheless, Shaun's workout would kill my injury.

I've sort of re-evaluated this for the time being. I've started doing yoga (vinyasa and aerial) 5 days per week. I'm aiming at gently increasing my strength/flexibility before attempting something more cardio related. Also trying to eat sensibly. TRYING.

My biggest concern is not fitting into my wedding dress in 3 weeks time. <panic>

onceshattered -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/17/2012 11:15:54 PM)

oooo combining my weightloss with geekery... this is awesome! Thank you for the link. The P90 program actually has you weigh yourself, as well as pictures and measurements at the end of each month. Most of what I've read says that you might not actually "see" the results until you're in the third month. For me, just knowing that I'm taking this within my own hands and eating healthier and moving around alot more has been motivation.

my motivational pieces at this point are very selfish and cosmetic lol (i.e. I really want a navel piercing.. but refuse to get one if I think it will "get lost" in the rolls of fat) soooo yeah. might be selfish but hey... it's working for me and that's what matters. Next month I might decide to change my motivation.. if that's the case.. I'm totally cool with it. whatever helps me keep going!

Thaz -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/17/2012 11:34:50 PM)

OS>> Yeah the program my Wench is on has her picture taken once a month head on and profile for display later (but not at the time!)

I have trouble exercising for the sake of it. I prefer to be doing something and then I can motivate myself to train to improve at that thing (Martial Arts, Rock Climbing etc). Lately myself and another friend have challenged ourselves to complete some long distance trecking routes and I'm training for that. Getting fitter and sheding fat can only help ;-)

onceshattered -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/17/2012 11:45:25 PM)

I think I'm similar in that I have trouble exercising just for the sake of "doing it" so I have to have those motivational factors to give me something to work towards. While just being more "fit" should be enough to get me through... my mind just doesn't work that way. lol So I've got my list... I told you the one.. here the other ones...

- I want to be able to kneel or crouch without needing a crane to get me back up again. I work in a pizza shop and crouching would come in VERY handy when I'm trying to clean something up. In fact, tonight the guys were joking around with me because I can barely bend my knees when I bend over.. so when I do bend over, my legs are straight and POP! my ass goes straight into the air. They think it's hysterical and love to threaten to spank me if I do it again. (we're like abig family there so there's no fear of sexual harrassment).

- I want to be able to buy clothes that don't look like multicolored tents! I've never been very girly, but more and more the feminine side is coming out in me and it's so hard to buy sexy or even flattering clothes that don't make me feel like I'm wearing a muumuu.

- I want to wear HEEEEEEEELS! Boots with heels, sexy shoes that make a guy's eyes bug out! I think heels are sooo soo sexy but I can't wear them right now, my ankles are just too weak and the added weight on top of them makes heels just about impossible without me killing myself.

Thaz -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (8/18/2012 12:04:47 AM)

Yes. Clothes and mobility are two huge factors for my Wench. She's bouncing this morning about being able to take a long shower without backpain making it a trial for her. And we're going clothes shoping later today in regular shops not buying stuff from online designer places (for those Uk girls http://sixteen47.com/ is good, for you Americans minus a couple of sizes. UK size 16 = USA size 14. And Yes 16-47 do sizes 16 to 47).

For me its about loosing the beer keg that seems to have somehow welded itself to my gut (its as much bread and pasta as beer to be honest) and therefore have my 6 pack back and fit into that suit of armour that shrunk over winter ;-)

And haul my ass round a route in a time that doesnt have the ghosts of sergants past screaming in my ear.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (10/20/2012 5:46:12 PM)

I weighed myself this evening and am at 274. I HATE PLATEAUS!!!!

I really need to use the core ball in the closet and Mom's hand weights. Days are cooler so I am trying to walk more.

Mom is making fudge these days and that is one candy I cannot resist. I can resist the pies and cakes that she makes with no problem, just not the fudge.

ResidentSadist -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (10/20/2012 10:22:44 PM)

^ I'll save you from the fudge and eat it for you.

culareD -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (10/21/2012 9:09:01 AM)

I did two rounds of P90X, and lost 70 lbs. (Was 200) I am now doing Insanity which is extremely intense. I also run several times a week.

I am a HUGE fan of vinyasa too, as it is extremely calming for me. In fact, my favorite component of P90X is the yoga.

I find that exercise is sort of a natural drug for me which curbs my ADD tendencies, and helps me sleep so much better.

KUDOS to all that choose to take care of themselves!

LillyBoPeep -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (10/21/2012 10:59:16 AM)

Yay! ths thread is back!
i started doing P90X and then twisted my ankle (unrelated), but now it's better so I'll be getting back to that.

I can fit a pair of jeans I couldn't fit before, and my job also has a little fitness room so I'll sometimes go in there during breaks.
