Oh, I'd have to agree that if we're going to hold their feet to the fire we should follow through with the same standards we apply to them. Personally, I think that strategically, if what they are saying about the press wandering round his constituency and not being able to find people who'll say they're willing to re-elect him, he should probably resign quickly, so the democrats can take advantage of gubernatorial appointment or special election.

The problem with that may very well be (and there is already some indication to that effect) that he used house/public resources. In which case he has committed an ethics violation. The scope of the house code of ethics should not be placed at risk for ANY individual.

Because, Sexy... it wasnt the pic... it was being lied too. The same issue I have with Clinton, actually... at least he had a definition to fall back on. Weener has nothing.

And Im in total agreement with the ethics investigation.

I can't really go that far, Tazzy. The pics I've seen aren't any more revealing than billboard ads for men's undies (tube sock stuffed into said undies and all ), and show a hell of a lot less than most people see at the beach if there are men in speedos or, god forbid, thongs on the scene.

As Tazzy said, it's the fact that he lied about it when he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, so to speak, and continued to do so. It would have been a pretty minor thing if he hadn't done a really bad job of trying to cover it up.

Oh, and my boss has long since learned not to ask me questions if he doesn't really want to hear the answers.

You should look at his videos of him doing his job, he's actually pretty good. It's the delve into his personal life that was his downfall. I think he panicked because he never believed that someone would stoop so low as to go there.

Status: offline 		Pelosi's ethics investigation is all for show. Nothing will come of it unless theres more that he hasnt disclosed. Using House resources isnt likely to be anything more than his cellphone and computer, which they wont hang him for.

Also the election is a year and a half away. This will be long forgotton by then, especially in his far left district. Im not even sure he should resign, since he represents his constituencies philosphies so well. As I said, I think his role as spokesman/attack dog is over, and thats huge.

Medicare the issue in 2012????? Only secondarily and as a scare tactic by Weiner's successor as lying scumbag. Its the economy stupid.

I agree with this. I do think what he did, showed poor judjement, in this instance. I would still prefer him, over the vast majority of congressmen on the job, without weiner pictures on the web.

At least he didn't leave the country to visit the mistress. M
