But is it fair to charge those who are already paying out the ass for private schools or those of us who don't have kids? I mean look at the quality of public education these days. These guys that go out with cameras video taping college students who an abnormally large percentage can't answer simple questions generally on American History or who the freakin vice president is and such though most sure as shit know the who's who of American Idol or some other such unimportant dribble. I mean we're not even getting a good deal for the money. How can you say you even own your house if the state or local government can take it for nonpayment of taxes ? Some places the property taxes are obscene to the point of being confiscatory. I don't have all the answers but just maybe a few ideas I'll save for another thread.

BTW - The guy I was debating about schools/entitlements thinks families with kids should solely bear the burden of an educated population. Which is at best a fluke. Like people with out kids don't gain a benefit ... They should fill up the wallet with all that money they saved and walk around Rio, where their dreams are a reality and see how pleasant/safe that experience is.
