I am stating what the experts say about getting into a car of an attacker. They advise to at all cost to not get in the car.

THE GUY HAD A WEAPON!!! THE GOAL IS TO STAY ALIVE.
When you are obviously out matched and the attacker has a weapon you dont resist, you comply and look for a chance to escape when its safer to do so (as this girl did).

How would you feel if this girl had been a female you knew? Like your sister, mother, aunt, female friend, female co-worker, etc? Would it have been better for her to wind up stabbed and dead than raped?

For what it is worth- we punish bad boys in this region. The attacker will be punished. He will go to jail.

He is a DANGEROUS CRIMINAL, not a "bad boy". I would hope he goes to jail, cuz if he doesnt next time he does that it might be fatal. But then, its you and your loved ones live there, not me.

See, Pahunky.....This is where you logic is jacked up.... Do you not see that you are blaming her for getting violated? What part of that being wrong don't you comprehend? I truly wish I had not edited my original statement. Until you have been put in the position of being raped or sexually assaulted, you will never know what you will do. All you can do is pull crap out of your ass and second guess someone else's decision which most likely was based on whether or not they wanted to live through whatever was going on. A decision, no doubt that they have had scrutinized by police, media, lawyers, and people with much more intelligence and common sense than you.

Having someone you love face this situation still doesn't make it real to most people. It's not really real until it happens to you yourself. Because until it happens to you, you can still second-guess someone else's reaction. If your sister gets raped & doesn't fight back because she preferred to get out of it alive, you'll just tell her she should have fought off her attacker. Because we all know what someone else *shoulda* done & can spout to the world what we'd do if it happened to us.

You read something somewhere by some "expert" who decided what women should & shouldn't do during a situation like this & decided that was gospel. You're not using your brain to think about an issue; you're essentially a recorder: you read something or someone tells you something & you repeat it, but it never went to your brain for processing.

The reality is, it ain't real & you DON'T know what you would do until it HAPPENS TO YOU! So here's my answer to this ridiculous poll: she should have done exactly what she chose to do to preserve her life. No second guessing, no Monday morning quarterbacking, no shoulda woulda coulda!! Now go away & annoy someone else, wouldja? Don't you have neighbors you can fuck with???

I was once in a situation in which I had to decide: fight or not.

The situation was very similar to the OP.

I chose to NOT fight.

should I fight doing smething I had done many times before (albeit, willingly), and risk the rapist following through on the threat of death?

OR should I just do it, and be FAIRLY sure I would come out of it alive.
Alive ddiint mean possibly disfigured.

alive meant "I'll be breathing and hopefully functional".

Every victim of an assault is going to react differently. I chose to react in the manner that was most likely to get me through it, and see the light of tomorrows sunshine.

Which is unfortunately why so many women still do not report being sexually attacked/raped. And the rapists remain free to rape again and again and again.

Yes, we do know. The expert of each individual situation is THE PERSON IN THAT SITUATION. People on a message board cannot listen to the victim's /survivor's gut. People on a message board can not see and read the assailant's eye and for lack of a better word, aura and/or intent.
If you truly want to know what "experts" say, I suggest reading "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin DeBecker.

If you want to know how individual women have survived, read "Her Wits About Her", author Denise Caignon or "Beauty Bites Beast", author Ellen Snortland.

There is no cookie cutter answer for what to do in each and every situation.
