I'm the same, I like to pronounce people's names the way that they want them pronounced. I just don't get my tail in a knot when people don't get mine right. Although I did when my first grade teacher seemingly refused to say it correctly. But I was 6 then. I'd like to believe I've matured a bit now.

No. It irks me when they show up calling me Goddess, though. I know some people like it, but, I find it horribly creepy, and, the fact that I keep telling people I'm a Christian should clue them in that I do not want to be worshipped as a false idol, in some weird, completely vain attempt to usurp power from God.

Of course, it should also clue them into the fact that I do not believe in female supremacy, and, I'm not going to be interested in all sort of shenanigans they hope I'll get up to with them, as well.

It doesn't.

It irks me, then, I get over it. Unless, they won't take "Yuck!" for an answer and then I block them, and, the irking is over.

Hey look with some people it doesn't take much. My real name is Karen yet I've been called Carol, Cara, Carine, you name it. I just correct them once and if they stick with the wrong name I don't sweat it.

My first name is Chantal.  I've had every pronunciation you can think of, including a store clerk who once returned a cut up credit card to me addressed to "lawnchair".  That got a good laugh, considering I'd taken the time to spell my fist and last name for her.  The last name was mangled just as badly.  I pronounce it one way when I speak to someone in English, they're not going to get it right, or rarely.  I've even spelled out my first name in msgs I've replied to and even then they send one back spelled "Chantel".  Tells me how much attention they've paid to the msg I've sent them.

If I got upset every time, I'd spend my time being angry.  I have enough problems without worrying about pronunciation.  I'll even answer to "hey you" if I know it's meant for me. [:D]

Wow. First of all, I did NOT, in my 1st, 2nd or 3rd post say anything about Hannah doing that. If she thinks she did, fine. But you can't quote where I said it because it's not there. It's not "waffling," it's a fact.
Secondly, I know you're absolutely head over heels crazy about Hannah and that's cool. But don't let it drive you to foolishness. Don't accuse me of writing something I didn't and don't accuse me of "passive aggressive bullshit" because there isn't any. I made my contribution to this thread like everyone else and just because she thought I accused her (and apparently so did you), that doesn't make me passive aggressive. I'm actually pretty aggressive and not in a passive way. If I had something to say to either of you, I'd say it as I have in the past. I think you both need to calm down and quit making everything about Hannah. There's narcissism and self-centeredness and then there's just delusion. Wow........luci

Luci to me it came across as being addressed to Hanners and no it isn't necessary to name her. It's the use of "you" in the post combined with the post being to Hanners that does it for me.
