When I went to Florida a few years back & met so many posters on here, it was kind of an amusing game for me to ask them how they had been pronouncing my name. But Ise kinda eebil that way. *nods* And that's when Tulip told me she'd been calling me by my black girl name, Lanaysh'a.

When I was doing surveys, some of them provided the person's name. I used to help pass the time by playing Who's Black? Guessing based on their names.

(I'd find out because 99.99999% of American surveys ask if they are black, white, whatever right at the end)

It only bothers me when my name is shortened and I am called the "wrong" one. My Mom and I share a name, and we both use different shortended versions of it. I am conditioned to not answer to the one my Mom uses, because, well, that's her, not me. lOL
