everhope and I are hanging out by the pool soaking up the sun and swimming on this fine summer day.  Here in the US it’s unofficially summer as of Memorial Day (May 30, 2011) even though the summer solstice isn’t until Jun 21, 2011.  What are you doing this fine warm summer weekend?  Multiple choice.

(I probably shouldn't say it like that.  It is our new couch and it is pretty nice.  We actually agreed on the darn thing.)

I'm actually moving my Dad back home with me and the kids. We've almost got the moving truck loaded to go home. I suppose I should clarify that, by "we," I mean my Manny, Thing 1, and his friend almost have the truck loaded. I've been sittin' back, talkin' to my Dad, and tellin' folks what to do like an old school, Southern plantation Mistress. *winks*

packing up the last of some items inside the house and setting stuff out for garbage, researching storage areas and moving companies and trying to get hold of my daughter who is probably at work <I don't know her schedule at this new job yet> since I found out through FB this morning that her boyfriend had his motorcycle vandalized last night.

And it looks like it's going to pour down rain and I'm trying to decide if I want to go out for a little bit and maybe do some shopping for a sundress or two even though I've been putting off buying new things for awhile.

I slept in, which is quite a rarity for me, got all motivated and ready to go climb a roof and get my mother-in-law's cooler up and running for the season, only to find out she wouldn't be home until sometime this afternoon, instead of by 10:30 this morning.

Very little wind today, so it'll be some slow-cooked mesquite chicken coming off the grill this evening.

I have a sort of a "date" this evening with a guy I drove to a munch last month. He wants to spend a little time getting to know me better. I'm not sure I'll like him, but WTF?? It breaks up the monotony of resting my back.

It's warm & delicious out there & the thunderstorms have started. I so love thunder & lightning. It raises the ozone level & always gives me a sense of euphoria & wellbeing.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get some work done around my apt. And get out for some short walks. And cook some chicken for me.

So far, I've done laundry, weeded flower beds, finished the mowing for G.D., which is no small feat and was made more difficult by running out of gas. Mowed the upper pasture just in time for it to start raining AGAIN... showered and am now sitting on my ass.

Generic Dude is in northern Minnesota fishing for Walleye for the next week. Peacefully quiet house. No television blasting away. No louding cussing at the tractor running out of gas and having to go get more, even though it did and I did. No cussing that the damned tractor didn't want to start even though it didn't. And no cussing that it has started raining so I cannot do some more digging and hauling of rock.......even though that is the case.

Just peace and quiet. Me sitting here freshly showered and 3 dogs totally racked out around me.

Brought the cat into the vet for a quick checkup. Mowed and sprayed weeds.  Cleaned the chinchillas' cage.  Oversaw a plumber fixing a leaking toilet and a grinding garbage disposal.  After I rip out the remnants of pyracantha roots, I can plant tomatoes and raspberries there.

New couch (have fun christening it), shopping for a sundress in the rain, slow-cooked mesquite chicken, horseback riding, a "date" in a thunderstorm, peace and quiet with the dogs, drunken debauchery, power washing the house, home sick, doing as little as possible (that’s my kind of weekend), a hound dog at the river but it doesn't like water (LMAO), slacking off, attending the pets and preparing to plant tomatoes and raspberries . . . wow, this thread turned out to be an interesting insight into the diversity of our daily lives.
