As Chris Matthews would say time to play hardball. Sarah Palin Issues Tea Party Blackmail Threat to the GOP “…If they’re not careful in the GOP there will be a third party rise up,“ Palin said “just like back in the day when the Whigs finally went away and the Republicans rose up, that’s what the GOP should be fearing today- is that the electorate will get fed up with business as usual in the GOP and a third party will rise up. Not that I want to see that, because I still have belief strongly that the GOP planks are best for our country, but the machine that runs the GOP has got to be very careful.” She ends with a menacing tone that suggests she’s not just lobbing talking points tonight; she means business. No blackmail at all. She's warning the conventional GOP that the Tea Party is at risk of not playing along with them. She's not stating that she'll personally do anything. The GOP has harnessed the energy of the Tea Party but not satisfied them. Pretty easy to have seen this coming....

It`s not business-as-usual republican vs. tea-bagger republican. It`s normal,moderate just-wants-to-see-government-work types vs. the extreme gov.-evil-must-fear-it pseudo-patriots (who`re continually pissed off,even when they win). It`s conservative(read conservative,as defined in Websters) vs. neo-conservative(which really has no resemblance to conservatives). She`s with the radicals and she`s warning the mods. We`ve(and I) been suggesting for years that the GOP might split up.I knew it when I saw elected republicans coddling David Koresh and kissie-facing with Randi Weaver.Cheney leaking a CIA op`s secrete ID(and the con-radicals defending it)was just more proof of how far the GOP has fallen from grace. I really don`t think the rad-fundie-cons are aware of how small their numbers are, compared to rank and file registered republicans. I welcome the coming GOP reformation.The radicals need to be marginalized and separated from the moderates.And moderate republicans need to stop being so hard-up for votes that they`ll stoop down to pander to sister Sarah and her band of angry children for a few votes.
