He should go.

Just b/c the cons are enablers and wimps on ethics violations doesn`t mean dems can do that too.

This is why there IS a difference between parties.

We have shame, the republicans......not so much.

It`s not a race to the bottom.

Why is David Vitter still a US Senator after his hooker scandle?

This opinion couldn't be about how left of center he is, would it?

I wonder why Clinton's perjury about sex is any less offensive than a lie followed by admission about cyber/sexting?

I don't blame breitbart one bit. These idiots are vicious. They will stop at nothing. And since breitbart and others like him do the job that the media USED to do, you have the mainstreamers dangerous too. I"m glad Andrew is on my side.

I don't give a damn that arnold had a baby on the side, my point was not his behavior, but other people's behavior in response to his situation.

Sooooooo... again, the person telling the TRUTH about a scumbag is the bad guy?!!  No... I don't think so.

These people are OUR representatives, and are being paid as such.  So you bet your ASS I want to know if they're scum.  Because... (drum roll)... if they're scum in their personal life, then they're likely scum in their professional life -- and when it's my dollar that pays them, I don't want their dumb ass around anymore.  Simple as that.

Where did I defend Anthony Weiner?

Here...

"I've never thought of myself as one to have a deep patriotic streak, but I think that Breitbart and his methods are positively poisonous for our country."

So Breitbart is the EVIL one for exposing the lying scumbag -- and you think THAT'S "patriotic"?!!  Blame the person who exposes a scumbag, but not the scumbag for acting like a scumbag... yeah, that makes sense.  So I take it you absolutely MUST also think all those reporters who reported on the Schwarzenegger story are also "poisonous" to our country as well, yes?!!

Breitbart is evil for many reasons before we even approach the Weiner scandal. My point was that I care about my country, and in order for it to run smoothly our politicians need to do their jobs. I care enough about my country that to worry. I worry because I think that removing politicians from their jobs for reasons not involving law-breaking, or their jobs is bad for the country.

And yes, if this state of California was hurt because Arnold resigned over a scandal, that would be bad as well. I don't know about their intentions, but Andrew Breitbart has said "It is my intention to destroy the institutional Left." That is a quote, something he does not deny. Follow me?

What politician doesn't lie? If you EXPECT HONESTY from a politician, you are sadly naive, and again, I have pity for you.

yeah, what about the REALLY BIG lies??? The ones they use to trick voters into putting them in office good ole boy Bill Flores for instance:

http://www.billfloresforcongress.com/articles/61

“If I am elected to Congress, we will defund (and eventually repeal) Obamacare, kill Cap and Trade, cut spending, extend current tax rates (by preventing the largest tax increase in history) and begin to grow our economy and spur private sector job creation.”

Bob Gibbs -
http://www.thepoliticalguide.com/rep_bios.php?rep_id=65235563&category=views&id=69411432463675

If I am elected to Congress one of the first things I will do is repeal "Obamacare" and, at the very least, make sure the bill is "de-funded."

And the list goes on and on and on... They ALL knew they wouldn't be able do more than a crocodile voting parody. But they told the lie anyway. So really. Which lie is more egregious? The lie about a tweeted picture? Or the lie you knew was a lie to get you elected?
One is of course a failure of the trust. The other is a demonstration that empty promises are small change in the game of fooling a population of voters.
While i personally feel that Weiner is probably going to do better for the party at large by maybe turning the seat over to a successor and keeping the seat in the party. I think the rats who hornswaggled their constituents into voting for them when they really couldn't have been that fucking stupid engaged in a much larger lie.

Yet one more democrat preferring martyrdom, so we (democrats) can show them Republicans we are pure, and without sins, unlike them.

I say, this is none of our business, and hell no, he should not give up his seat. He's the most vociferous democrat, calling out the shameless, and other liars. I guess he's fallible too, but you're never going to find purity anywhere in politics. For me, it's whomever is serving the greater good for the masses. I don't believe there is a single person in government, who does not/has not lied. M

Well ... this time he didn't edit the media presented to perpetrate a fraud as he has in the past. But he's a shit bag nonetheless. Remember, we're talking about a guy who's had to admit he defrauded the public in the recent past. He just got lucky this time. He didn't discover ANYTHING, someone else did and fed it to him because they KNEW he is a hatchet man.

Yes!!!  Good for him.  The institutional Left has brought nothing but misery, economic decline and constitutional encroachment.

That comment was meant for both sides of the isle.

Weiner isnt as bad as Arnold who isnt as bad as Clinton, who isnt as bad as Nixon.

See my point? Why dont we hold them responsible for their own actions as opposed to how bad their actions are in comparison with someone else?

No...I don't see your point.  I want to know why Nixon was so bad.  The Watergate Scandal?  Is that it?  The President that ended the war in Nam, opened up relations with China, furthered civil rights, created the EPA (which may continue to prove to be a huge mistake), what made him so bad?  Is the Watergate Scandal all you got?  You know, there are books comparing Clinton's Whitehouse to Nixon's and Nixon looks pretty good if only by comparison.

Also, if you are talking about affairs, please tell me the affairs or other lewd behavior engaged in by Truman or Dwight or Nixon or Ford or Carter or Reagan or HW Bush or W. Bush....or Obama, for that matter.  We elect scumbags and then we defend them for no better reason than they advance our political agenda.

I think Nixon was pretty bad, not because Watergate itself was so bad, it wasn't a big deal in the context of the dirty tricks of the time. It pales in comparison to the theft that was Kennedy's election for example.

The problem was that his loyalty to his guys got in the way of loyalty to the country, and it was the first time that happened in most of our lifetimes. It demeaned the office, irrecoverably probably. It was the beginning of the destruction of faith in our government.

His (former) house is fucking amazing though!

You mean his house in Ridgewood?  Ridgewood is a great town!  I can't go there with you regarding Nixon.  Ok...he was loyal to his men and, perhaps, loyal to a fault.  I strain to consider that bad.  Did it get in the way of tending to the country yes.  BUT....FDR was the first president to try to stack the Supreme Court in order to pursue a tragically progressive political agenda.  So...which president has had longer lasting ramifications for the country?

As far as losing faith in the office, Carter was no slouch.  Clinton was a terrible embarrassment as well for reasons that are far too numerous to list.  HW Bush was a shameless progressive and globalist and, in the grand scheme of things, his son wasn't a whole lot better.

In your opinion, who was the last president that was worth his salt?

When Republicans en masse call for the resignation of bible thumper Ensign after disguising funds through his parents to buy off his mistress's husband, then they might sound credible in attacking Weiner

Republicans dont publicize and debate their internal affairs in open, they take action. They forced Ensign out of office early so they could get a GOP replacement in, just as they forced Chris Lee out for far less than Weiner did. Meanwhile Rangle is still around, Dodd was allowed to exit quietly, Jefferson didnt lose his committee post and it was considered a huge upset when he lost his reelection bid.

Dont kid us with your partisan bullshit.

Teddy?  Yeah...I like Teddy.  But after Teddy, I would say Reagan, Dwight, Truman for some reasons, Ford ( a decent, affable man who didn't fuck anything up).  I don't think Hoover was bad either, especially in retrospect.
