What is being taken by force? My understanding is that things were being taken by legislation. As I said before if someone is being violent, there are laws and courts to deal with it. You’re engaging in the same kind of excuse making… looking for a justification of the protestor’s behavior, but what has that behavior gained? Has it in anyway advanced their cause? Quite the contrary, they have harmed their cause by turning people against them.

Here is something that I do not understand about protestors, particularly the get in your face kind: don’t they understand that mistreating people in order to get a message across doesn’t work? When you mistreat someone, they do not focus on your message… they focus on their mistreatment. Since you (I mean that in the general, hypothetical, sense, not you specifically) are the one mistreating someone… well… that person doesn’t like you now, do they (BDSM situations obviously excepted

)? Nor will they like anything associated with you… which includes your message! Most people presume that any message or cause advocated by an asshole must be worthless or malicious in itself. That may not be very logical, but that is human nature. Trying to advance your cause by being a dick is a total backfire!

All the “what if?” and “buts” and “they started it,” bullshit doesn’t matter. Each and every one of those protestors had a choice… and they chose to be dicks and ruin a special moment for a group of people who had not harmed them and have a difficult time enough in life as it is.

They have a simple way to "fix" this. It is called an election.
A. This is how the Republicans got control.
B. This is the recourse that the colonist did not have and was the reason they resorted to more aggressive means. That is the reason that people who disagree with this behavior are not parroting King George.

I dont care that you disagree:) truly I could give a rats ass, but nothing worth protesting over is done quietly
and yes it is force, by legislation is irrelevant, they are forced to give up something that they had, Legislated FORCE
they are pissed and rightly so
they have NO recourse until the next election or by protesting. If you were losing 10% of your take home pay, how happy would you be to last without that income for two or four years until you can get it reversed?
Look at the tea party springing up only in 2008 and directed towards Obama despite being shafted for 8 years previously by their own party?
if something you cared about was taken from you, you would be out there protesting.
just by your responses here shows me that.
THe fact that you dont care.... about this particular situation is belied by your use of language.
What would get you to protest, may not move me and I may even think its pathetic, but you dont have the right to tell me what I can protest over.

and what have they done so far since they have been in power?
got more protests against them than the tea party could have hoped for against Obama
and another two years before they can get rid of the jerkoffs , unless the recall works, but still living for a year without those funds and or rights is not something anyone would like, protesting isnt against the law

During the Carter economic disaster we had a company in my home town which avoided layoffs by cutting everyone from 40 hours to 30 hours. The employees were thankful that no one lost their jobs. Minnesota is going broke because they are paying teachers and others too much. Better to cut pay than cut jobs. And don't tell me I don't believe in the Constitution. Don't tell me to leave the country. I want to live in America many, not all, of the left wants us to be France.

Minnesota is going broke because of Pawlenty shifting debts into the future, so now we owe the principle and a shitload of interest.
