Food stamp program (invisible soup lines) should be abolished. Having real soup lines instead would force the structural reforms much faster.

Not ALL claims are rubber stamped. From the time I applied to the time I received my notification that I was approved for SSD - was 4 months. However, I know I'm the exception. I'm not sure why mine was approved so quickly when most everyone else has to wait years and are forced to appeal. It is a very mercurial system with no measurable (that I can see) way of justifying its decisions. ETA: I didn't hire a lawyer. In my case, I didn't need one.
