Nor have you.

Brain -> RE: leftist fantasy (6/13/2011 7:12:36 PM)

So Republicans are a failure because they caused the financial crisis by deregulating the banks so they can engage in risky activity. People lost their jobs and had to use food stamps because of the financial crisis caused by Republicans. Republicans are a huge failure!!!

Brain, its not only the Republicans fault.

Pssst... "civil discourse" does not include presenting asinine questions like if one "approves" of "lying", for example.

Where have I said that?

You get what you give...
You were the one who started with

act like an adult, and I'll treat you as such.  You haven't thus far.

Not according to your post.
Once again who has said that obama shot bin ladin?

Not backpedaling at all. You know me better than that.

I quoted the Politifact artcile so I would not be misunderstood. Perhaps you should read it again. Cain and Gingrich made the same mistakes as those articles.

The changes produced consistent increases in the number of average monthly beneficiaries. The number rose in seven out of the eight years of Bush’s presidency -- most of which were years not considered recessionary. All told, the number of recipients rose by a cumulative 63 percent during Bush’s eight-year presidency.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2011/may/16/newt-gingrich/newt-gingrich-defends-calling-barack-obama-food-st/

But, according to Gingrich, Obama is the "food stamp" President.

Sounds like backpedaling to me. You claimed in your response to me that Cain and Gingrich were the "they" that said food stamp recipients have doubled. I find no place where they said that. Now all you say is that they "made a mistake", but in everything Ive read of what they said they didnt make mistakes. They said there has been a marked increase and gave numbers very close to the ones you posted.

Over 44 Million Now On Foodstamps (Doubled under Obama) (not attaching the link again)

http://sweetness-light.com/archive/food-stamp-s-up-50-under-obama

The article quoted speaks of both Cain and Gingrich making the same claim.

The article speaks of both not getting the numbers right. My OP addressed the fact that the numbers did not double, and that the numbers being used to belittle Obama were incorrect.

If you read more into what I said that, i dont know what to tell you.

So its your belief you are acting as an adult in an intelligent discouse by telling them you dont care what they think. Interesting.

Im rarely fair minded, I believe what I believe, but I am open minded enough to consider alternatives. I would hope many have come to realize that about me, But if they dont, it wont affect how I relate to others here.

Believe it or not, I like you too. But when you start belittling the thoughts and beliefs of others to the point that you slam the door on all ideas but your own, you and I are gonna have problems.

Uhoh. Infected with KenDoll spin I see. Re read the OP and your responses to me, how often you emphasize "Doubled Under Obama" and then link that to Cain And Gingrich. There isnt a single person reading only the first few pages of this thread who wouldnt think that Cain and Gingrich claimed that food stamp recipients doubled.

And you keep claiming they made "the same mistake", but I havent found where they made ANY mistake, and you havent come up with one that Ive seen.

tazzygirl -> RE: Foodstamp fantasy (6/13/2011 7:37:47 PM)

I posted the complete article... no where in that article does it say either of them said it doubled... nor did I. Quit reading into things you want to be there, willbe.

Nope, just in the fucking title, which youve repeated a dozen or so times.
And you STILL havent pointed out ANY error they made.

I think you may be confusing my blunt opinions/commentary as some sort of attack.  It's not.

Example:  If someone states, "I LOVE grapes!!!", and then I state, "I fucking HATE grapes!!!" -- that's not "belittling" their beliefs... I'm simply stating mine.  Now, if grapes were poisonous, and someone states, "I know grapes are poisonous, and I don't care", and I state, "Grapes are poisonous, and anyone who'd eat grapes is a fucking idiot", then that's valid, and not "belittling", as only an idiot would eat something poisonous.

tazzygirl -> RE: Foodstamp fantasy (6/13/2011 7:58:01 PM)

Cain’s numbers aren’t quite accurate, but he’s close. The number of recipients has topped 44 million since December, which means his estimate is about 7 percent too high.

Wrong numbers.

quote:

Cain placed the increase at 14 million, which is about 15 percent too high. Again, he’s close, but not quite right.

Wrong numbers.

quote:

Last week, the state’s other presidential contender, Newt Gingrich, said Obama deserves to be called "the most successful food stamp president in American history" because "47 million Americans are on food stamps."

Wrong numbers.

And Bush had a 51% growth of food stamps under his administration with low unemployment number

2002 19,096
2003 21,250
2004 23,811
2005 25,628
2006 26,549
2007 26,316
2008 28,223
2009 33,490

Think I didnt catch that huh. lol When I posted the other, I didnt look at the individual numbers they reported. So I happily correct that now.

They are reporting 2010 numbers being 40302. And so far this year of 44000. An increase of 3, 698,000 people. 9.1% increase. Compare that to the increase of 14,394,000 million people under Bush.

Seems to me the wrong President was crowned the food stamp President.

If either expect to be taken seriously, they really should use accurate numbers.

Just about every poster you disagree with. Please stop with the "them" comment. My post was quite clear.

Prepared the wrong way, blow fish can be poisonous. Yet I know many who enjoy it. My sushi chef is certified in the US to prepare it.

The man is allergic to eggplant, it is poisonous to him. Its not to me. Your opinion of someone being a fucking idiot is just that.... your opinion. Its also an attempt to try and shame someone into silence, which I find to be an embarrassing attempt at censure.

ROFL. If you call 7% or 15% "mistakes" in the context they were given youre just joining the leftist hunt for anything to whine about.

Extremely interesting you avoid the 51%.

Avoid it? It has nothing to do with Cain or Gingrich or the misleading titling of the article. You just keep posting it in the vein of "If Bush did it, its fine for Blowboy to."

Tasmanian devils are of both gendersl so your feeble attempt at snark missed the mark. Though it has been a while...almost 2 weeks, but lg will be back Thursday :).

tazzygirl -> RE: Foodstamp fantasy (6/13/2011 8:17:15 PM)

I never said it was fine for Obama or this administration. What I did say was he wasnt the rightful heir to that title, Bush is. You are doing your ad hominem attack again.

Unemployment has more than doubled since Bush took office in 2001.... 52.6%. Since Obama took office, 9%. Interesting how the food stamp numbers correspond.
