Perhaps you would like to have those on food stamps wear some distinctive mark (perhaps an armband with a easily recognized symbol) or maybe a tattoo on their forhead?

I'm on Social Security Disability, and I don't qualify for the food program.  Besides my SSD I also get about $400 per month income from the sale of part of my dad's estate.  That amount put me over the food program eligibility amount by $11.  But that's fine.  I didn't like being on that program anyway though it was definitely a help while I waited 2 1/2 years for "the system" to look at my disability eligibility.
No,in that case I definitely do not qualify....in addition to my SSD I receive workers comp checks twice a month...so if your 400 put you over the top.....my 1400 a month WC is knocking me out of the park.....oh well.Guess I don't get them thar food stamps.

Yeah my lawyer assured me that the original denial was a foregone conclusion.....as was receiving a favorable ruling on appeal.Seems to be they believe doing things this way,at least according to my lawyer,will result in most scammers and takers falling by the wayside....while those truly disabled will eventually get their money...of course once I got my money my lawyer had to get his 25%......that was out of close to 3 years worth of payments...a nice little chunk of change.

Spin? or lie? Obama took office in 2009. He was still working under Bush budget until Oct. Even if we give Obama all of 2009...

It should be criminal that you have to hire a lawyer to get disability.

Not ALL claims are rubber stamped. 

From the time I applied to the time I received my notification that I was approved for SSD - was 4 months. 

However, I know I'm the exception.  I'm not sure why mine was approved so quickly when most everyone else has to wait years and are forced to appeal.

It is a very mercurial system with no measurable (that I can see) way of justifying its decisions.

ETA:  I didn't hire a lawyer.  In my case, I didn't need one.
