2006 26,549

They are reporting 2010 numbers being 40302. And so far this year of 44000.

I think you might be missing it's not only the increases themselves, but the RATE OF INCREASE -- i.e., comparing 8 years vs. 2.5 years.  I charted your numbers to better exemplify this.  Note:  I'm not agreeing with the "Welfare President" label, just offering an explanation for the impetus of the label. Ah, there you fall into the same trap. When a President takes office, he is still operating under the previous administrations policies. Therefore, Obama wasnt responsible for the unemployment numbers for most of 2009. Nor was Bush for 2001. The same is true for food stamp participants as well.

Just about every poster you disagree with. Please stop with the "them" comment.

Example, please???  Oh, and if I don't understand what you mean by "them", I'm gonna ask... that seems prudent.

As to my posting syle... again, that ain't-a-changin' -- blowfish or not.

You're falling into that "trap" of still not understanding "spin" -- you think it's rooted in logic?!!  Silly girl.[sm=rofl.gif]

tazzygirl -> RE: Foodstamp fantasy (6/13/2011 8:44:39 PM)

I dont do "spin". So I dont fall into your understanding theory. Spin to me is shrouded in lies and deceit... on both sides. You may accept spin all you want. Myself, I prefer truth.

Are you suggesting that the social welfare system in this country is the product of one party?

No. What would give you that idea, Thom? You'll find more people in one party than the other who think more government is the answer to most problems, but I find government operates with inherent inefficiency, no matter who is in charge.

I prefer truth too (who doesn't?)... but I'm familiar enough with the political process to not get bent out of shape over "spin".  Mind you, I'll still state it's STOOPUD... but won't get bent out of shape over it. (shrugs)

one of the easiest way to weed out the malingerers is too make it a lengthy and difficult process

True' dat, Mike. It also serves a useful function of conditioning people to lower income levels. It's Machiavelli for misery. As long as you stay in the pipeline, it's fine. When those dead reliable checks develop an issue, though, it's into the wringer all over again.

Owner59 -> RE: Foodstamp fantasy (6/13/2011 9:21:43 PM)

It could have been much, much worse.

We know what approach McGramps and Sarah would have taken. They told us what they would have done.

More and much more of the same policies, that ruined the country`s economy in the first place.

More tax cuts for rich people,no/less regulation/enforcement/rules for banksters and no extensions on un-employment,bailouts for Wall Street and zilch for Main Street.

They would have let GM fold.

Job losses from that would have cascaded down the production/supply lines, killing yet even tens of thousands more jobs.

Sending those without jobs but with mortgages into foreclosure and to the foodstamp counter and on and on.

That approach would have been the model.

Die businesses die and don`t come to us for help,we have tax cuts for millionaires to dole out.

The shitheads who fucked us and our economy, republicans, are now telling us they would have fixed it faster.lol.

But not how.

Kinda short with those details.

This is like a shithead shooting your friend in the guts and then bad mouthing the doctor because the victim is taking a while to recover.Holly shit, that`s nerve.

Then,..... shithead claims that he could do a better job than the doctor,[8|].......even after it was shithead that shot the poor fuck in the 1st place.Lotta balls that shithead has.

Then shithead is shameless enough to claim the symptoms the shooting victim is suffering, are the doctor`s fault.lol, wow.

Shithead`s only hope is that folks forget that shithead`s the shooter.lol

It could have been much, much worse.

Shithead`s victim could have died(another great depression).

Now the shooter`s going to bash the Dr.?

Riggghhhttt.....

Allow me to translate that for you, Tazzy:

"Surely, comrades, you don't want Jones to come back?"

Listening to the candidates, some of them for almost 3 years now, I have to wonder what our economy would have been like, Rich.

Hmmm... given you seem to say that with such ease... I'm-a-thinkin' the mere "slut" label no longer fitting -- as it would appear "trained slut" is far more appropriate. [;)][8D][:D]

Well trained? Hmmmm... didnt know slaves were "trained" to that level.

But the Democrap House that ran things in 2008 WAS responsible.
