When I became homeless in 2009, I was fortunate that I could store some of my treasures with my Owners. Now that I have a home again I am unpacking these & I found my collection of The Great Muppet Caper glasses from McDonald's. I got these when my daughter was young, but they were for me, not her. Heh

Glasses! That reminded me of the glasses from burger king and mcdonalds and such, the ones with Star Wars scenes and Smurfs and Peanuts and all those! I LOVED those!

I had an awesome collection of ET and Gremlins glasses from Burger King. Those were sweet sweet nice. I sincerely hope I have those packed away somewhere, because I promised myself that I'd never be one of those dudes who goes around re-assembling his childhood via Ebay purchases but for those glasses I might make an exception!

Hahahaha! At least I'm not the only one considering that right now. I unfortunately lost all of them at my moms house so I'll have to do something like that as well...

***and suddenly there's an unexplained run on collectible glasses on ebay, as the prices skyrocket.

OMG ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW!

Anyone else watch some of those messed up Musial disasters like RHPS and Heavy Metal?

LETS DO THE TIME WARP!

I watched em both. The first time I saw RHPC was in 78. Midnight showing Grove cinema in Coconut Grove.

I had NO fucking idea what it was but friends from the dorm talked me into it. I get there and all these people are dressed and carrying props and I'm like "What the FUCK"

The cinema is the first movie theater I ever saw that served beer. Becks.

Yeah never go to a theatrical release, those fans are crazy.

I actually got to watch it as a kid, which could explain why I like some of the fetishes I do. I would not be suprised if it messed me up since Tim Curry pretty much tarrified me most of my childhood, HRPS Legend, It, and oddly enough Home Alone 2.

The first any only time I ever watched RHPS in a theater EVERYONE but me was dressed in drag and when "Time Warp" came on they all got up and started dancing and singing along. I had to get up and leave the theater it was just too much for my Weird-shit-O-Meter.

I will watch it from time to time but never again in a theater.

When I was a kid I was always completely fascinated with life like miniatures. Today, I have dozens of wildlife figures from this company, hidden in odd places all over the house. Monkeys in my ficus, tigers next to some cacti, lions on a stack of rocks.

Granny had these tiny little glasses with Scottie dogs on them & she would give us our orange juice in them when we visited. And no matter how big we got, if we stayed at her place for the night, she put a kitchen chair up next to the bed so we wouldn't fall out.

omg omg....my granny had a set of those, too, only it was orange-pineapple juice from a can with Donald Duck on the label. Also from granny's kitchen, powdery orange cheese we shook onto spaghetti (instead of mozzarella), strawberry Quik for yummy pink milk, mashed banana in a bowl, Swanson fried chicken dinners on tv trays on Friday night while watching Lawrence Welk, the Dating Game and the Newlywed game while the parents went bowling. Good times!

I still ride rollercoasters & play kickball.
I enjoy playing in the snow, eating peanut butter & jelly sammiches, watching the Flintstones/or Smurfs & I don't feel like the holidays are complete w/o viewing "Charlie Brown's Christmas"....

Lawrence Welk or Johnny, at my maternal grandparents with either a bowl of ice cream or home made caramel pop corn made with butter and brown sugar.

Potty: I know! To me, without all those old Rankin and Bass stop motions, How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Charlie Brown Christmas.... it's just NOT Christmas! I actually get hostile if I don't get to see those. Thankfully we have them on dvd now.

Throw in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer with Burl Ives and you've got the trifecta! :)

Going for walks in a downpour, so when you get home, you have to strip off your wet clothes in the bathroom to hang them & dry off with the towel & put your wet shoes in front of the heater to dry out. Yep!! That's what I just did!!!

And picking out my books by smell rather than content.

The only way I like a peanut butter sammie is the same way they made it for us in grade school: they mixed butter into the peanut butter that was made from just real peanuts so that it wouldn't stick to the roofs of our mouths. So I buy or make real peanut butter & have pb&b sammies, preferably on white bread, but not that Wonder shit.

I love to play in the snow & catch snowflakes on my tongue.

Nap time, and grammies and milk before bed at night are two of my childhood comforts that I enjoy immensly. Although lately nap time has been cut into because Master keeps me awake and busy most of the time. But still, nap time and grammies and milk.

Over the last years I have realized that many of the things that I loved as a child and that gave me comfort, are the same things that I try to give to my kids. (The other big category being things I coveted but did not get.) They have wised up to that fast, and know exactly on which things Mum will be an easy sell.

Books where one of the major comforts of my childhood, and I still love them so very much. Big boxes of used ('cause cheap used books make for bigger boxes) books are still my favourite presents today. The Guy asked if he should have his pay send directly to Amazon. The boys get practically every book they express interest in, and then some.

I loved office supplies, and even today own much more than I need. School supply shopping for the boys is a happy occasion for me, and they always get the fancy stuff I wanted but did not get.

My mother was a very bad cook, but there was one pasta casserole that I loved. After much trying I am now able to replicate the recipe. It is a regular fixture in our house.

Alf. The series and the cassette tapes thereof. I own them on CD, and often listen to them during housework.

My father collected Lucky Luke, Asterix, and Clever&Smart comics and I used to sneak them into my room to read. Now I have a bunch of them myself.

Homemade macaroni salad. When I make macaroni salad, it's a whole fuckin main course: there's meat, cheese, vegetables, eggs, & of course, macaroni. And homemade macaroni salad for breakfast the day after. OMG!!! That's what I'm making for dinner tonight. YAY!

I have many though one i will mention:

You know the seeds from elm trees that when you throw them up in the air fly like helicopters?
You will never see me pass an elm tree in the autumn without grabbing a handful and tossing them up.

Yep, I still do that too. :D Love those things!

And snowflakes! I still catch them on my tongue, and make snow angels and snowmen!
