I loved watching this.

And if you lived in the NY region and weren't glued to your tv at 4:30 to watch this while mom was cooking dinner then you were a freak.

My favorite all time cartoon episode...

The summer I turned 4 I couldn't tell time, but I knew what the clock looked like when this show was due to come on:

Also enjoyed the Little Rascals and the Three Stooges.  Loved most all of the cartoons of the day.  (Yogi Bear, Quickdraw McGraw, Huckelberry Hound, etc.)  Can't forget many of the Disney series shows like Davey Crocket, and The Swamp Fox.  OH!....And I have to mention The Lone Ranger!

The radio I listened to was a little bakelite Sylvania & our first TV looked like the one that first couple won. Really not sure of the brand though.

I tell my students that I remember when there were no computers in people's homes and there were NO video games at all. They look at me, cock their heads sideways and say, "but what did you do?"

I remind them of these cool, new fangled inventions called BOOKS. They are made with ink and paper, you see...

One of my favorite childhood memories is sitting down on Saturday mornings with my dad and watching Bugs Bunny and the Roadrunner.  His fave is Wile E. Coyote.  What made is special was he'd be on leave from the Navy for the weekend, so it wasn't something that happened every Saturday.  And I loved all the Hanna Barbera cartoons, they were a staple when I was growing up.  Some of them were on after school, too.

I don't know, Saturday mornings have lost their magic since everything started being so stupidly educational, or has to have some sort of positive message.  Hell, alot of what's on now isn't even a CARTOON!
