GreedyTop -> RE: A Guide to Fakes: (6/17/2011 9:36:09 AM)

GAH!! help me out here.. if she said she was 45 stone.. how do I figure it?

No, I'm not obssessed.. just trying to get a grasp on the back and forth, if that makes sense

exactly! pseudoscience or not, some people just find it fun. it has nothing to do with their ability to carry on an intelligent conversation. if you are intelligent at the expense of being fun, then i probably won't like your brand of intelligence anyway.

Some of us like studying it from a historical point of view, and how entrenched it was in the world view of people in the Dark Ages and through the Renaissance and into the Reformation period. It was on par with alchemy in regards to the evolution of science... astronomy and chemistry coming out of both of these disciplines.

and there you go -- a perfectly intellectual approach to a pseudoscience.
julia, i am mailing you your Fakes of Collarme 2011 calendar photo release forms.
don't sign your real name on them!!

and yes, that end of it is really interesting, too. then it's more about discussing the belief system in place at the time (like talking about the difference between a Westerner's ideas, and an Aboriginal Australian's ideas), and how it impacted the culture that used it.
even still, just playing around with it doesn't make you a non-intellectual. =p

CANCERIAN PRIDE!

ETA: Greedy -- multiply 45 (stone weight) by 14 (number of pounds per stone)

You misunderstood my post in a manner that greatly changed the meaning and can be insulting to you. I do not desire that. The 'and' in my sentence was critical. I like a sub or slave or loves intellectual discourse. What I said is that if you have something like that 'and' something silly like astrology that is a warning. You can disagree or even insult me all you wish as it really has no meaning here, but I certainly never meant to demean intellectual discourse as an interest because that would be absurd. It was conflicting interests that were the issue.

I have an interest in astrology, and I can quite certainly assure you, I would wipe the floor with you in any sort of "intellectual discourse"[8|]

*nods*

Julia scares me when she goes into intellect mode.

Serious.

[:o]

Awww, am I that scary?

YOU SADIST! Why must you torture us with math this early in the morning?

mnottertail -> RE: A Guide to Fakes: (6/17/2011 9:37:36 AM)

she might have said she is 45 and stoned.

14 x 45= weight in pounds.

GreedyTop -> RE: A Guide to Fakes: (6/17/2011 9:37:49 AM)

*falls a bit more for B2*

that cant be right.. that makes her even heavier.

I must have misheard her....

crazyml -> RE: A Guide to Fakes: (6/17/2011 9:40:34 AM)

Yeah... 45 stone is, let's say, "a little rotund"

If she weights 45 stone

that is 14 pounds to a stone so

45 x 14 = 640lbs

I doubt she weights 640lbs

I weight only 10 stones.

I was already nominated for it because I do not have a photo of myself as the primary, and when I had my corset photo men emailed me that I was a fake because my photo wasn't "real"... (yes, they really are that big)

It is hard to understand the cosmology of any group of people unless you really want to sit and listen to them describe it to you, and in my mind, anyone that dismisses people are "stupid" because they have a cosmological view is missing a great opportunity at understanding the human condition.

juliaoceania -> RE: A Guide to Fakes: (6/17/2011 9:42:35 AM)

I'm just a rolling stone....

GreedyTop -> RE: A Guide to Fakes: (6/17/2011 9:43:36 AM)

given the pics of her I had seen at the time, I am guessing she was more 14x14.....

Actually I'm a true SadoMaso, I tortured myself this fine afternoon by going on the scales and realizing I slipped over 50 kilos, that will be a long walk with the doggies this evening and nope, I won't even look at gummibears or wine gums!
