Riots arent an american thing, neither is ugliness, its a human thing, and canadians are human.

Its a sporting event thing!

In San Francisco after the Giants won the 2010 world series.

In LA when the Lakers won the NBA championship.

When Maryland (College) beat Duke.

Lets not discuss the poor couches in Pittsburgh over the years, other than to say its now illegal to have one set out on your porch.

Its almost like a rite of passage for sport fans,

I thought the riots were when they won?

Like the 3peat of the Chicago Bulls.

..if this is how it is-- why would anyone want a sports team in their city?

I waited three months for my MRI, but it wasnt an emergency.Had it been an ER thing it would have been done asap.Dumb bitch. she was warned for her hate speech here , shes not a big fan of Canada.
Her loss, :)

...Gosh as someone who had 2 MRIs-   they are certainly not same day deals here.  It seems to me that I had to wait some too.  Not 3 months- but certainly not instant.   Especially if you want the open MRI.

Money.

I waited 4 days for my last one, just a few days ago. But I live in Pittsburgh, talk about a medical city! The company I used has five different locations in the city.

To assume someone who goes into an ER has to wait 6 months for an MRI is just stupidity.

Speaking of photos, I saw the pic of the kissing couple, which was an amazing shot and such a contradiction imo.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20110617/wl_canada_afp/canadariotinternetoffbeatihockeyaustralia

I knew there would be a riot tho.

What...They couldn't break into a room at the Holiday in or something? Freaking dirty ground humping perverts.

They werent humping! It looks like that or a that someone superimposed two pics, it looks so sureal.
But the story is that she was caught between the crazies and the cops (yikes!), she got bashed with a police shield and was hurt and no doubt scared poop-less. The pic shows him trying to calm her and telling her everything will be all right and giving her a kiss.
Really sweet, i think.

A guy at our church said he has to wait till Nov to see a neurologist.  (this was in May)   I dont think he tried hard enough.

Lucylastic -> RE: USPS Not mailing to canada (6/18/2011 11:34:13 AM)

There is no doubt that wait times are an issue for non emergencies, but if you go thru the ER its a different ballgame

Edited to add, my own personal experiences in the past six months only. I know rural canada has more issues with wait times and availibility.
of course if you can afford to pay, thats different once again.

WOW! Considering what an MRI does to your cells, I am surprised that you would have one. Really surprised.

But then if you want to pay you have to go outside the rules.
My mother and I had opposite views regarding the Canadian medical system... that was until she had to wait and wait and wait for her turn for some medical thing (I think a test for her heart). She almost gave up and went down to WA state to get it done.
I personally think there should be a 2 tier system cuz people that will pay end up sending their $$$ to the US. That $ should stay in Canada! [>:]

That is good to know.    ...the other thing- is that the mail might not get thru the riot zone in Vancouver, which is pretty much burned to the ground after the hockey team failed to perform.

You must have heard this on NitwitPlanet.

I wont have anymore.  The drumming and noise is unbearable.

Actually Stef,  you are among those who are responsible for the damages.   As a citizen of Boston you should better control your teams.   They finally plowed your snow I gather?

I LOVE House!

Of course was already a fan of Hugh Laurie from Black Adder, 101 Dalmations, and The Man in the Iron Mask. John Malkovich did not hurt either. [:D]

I also enjoy looking for and finding all of the Sherlock Holmes references.

I do not often get to see the shows when they first air but I do buy them when they come out on DVD.

Lucylastic -> RE: USPS Not mailing to canada (6/18/2011 1:36:19 PM)

Did you see the latest offering of Sherlock, from the UK? I thoroughly enjoyed it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherlock_(TV_series)
my mum tells me there is to be a second series coming soon(it also says so in the wiki, lol)

:)I agree with you about House, Hugh and Mr Malkovich too:)

No I have not, but I will look for it on DVD. I will probably be needing some DVD series soon.

DesFIP -> RE: USPS Not mailing to canada (6/18/2011 2:30:38 PM)

They only did a couple of episodes. I really hope they make more. It was awesome.

But hockey fans are known to be crazy. Not unexpected that people got a little out of control. A couple of windows and a few cars. Not that big a deal. Doesn't the Vancouver police have mounted cops though? One mounted cop is worth 50 on foot. New York always brings the mounted ones out for sports stuff. And for Times Square at New Year's.

Yes but i dont know how many, it could be just a couple of them and maybe just patrol the park in the daytime. The gigis are located at Stanley Park (its huge) which is at the other end of downtown Vancouver.

I think they underestimated the situation & number of people, maybe they should have had the army there. [8|]
